For Christmas:
-DVD player. Which is nice because I don't have to jack our portable for Netflixing anymore. It's not Blu-Ray or anything, but it'll get the job done.
-$25. Hey, every little bit helps.
-Would have possibly gotten $100, but Grandma forgot to give it to me last night. lol.
-LG enV Touch. Which is...the phone I was going to get if I DIDN'T get it for Christmas. Woo yeah take your clothes off. It's a nice little messaging phone, except for one thing: When I unwrapped it and plugged it in yesterday, it was giving me a "Use Genuine Battery" error. Awesome. But it was an LG battery.
So we had to go back to the place we got the phone from (the Verizon store in the BJ's by the Garden State Plaza. In Paramus. In
Bergen County. On Saturday. THAT WAS FUN NOT AT ALL), where we got the battery swapped for a new one. And now it works like a charm.
...for once, going to the hellhole that is Route 17/Route 4 in Paramus on a Saturday was actually worth it. (Granted, it wasn't QUITE as bad as when we went to see "Avatar" last weekend and the entire population of Paramus was in the Apple store because we were expecting Snowpocalypse that Saturday, but apparently, the Garden State Plaza is a requirement to shop at if you live in Bergen County. It's not as if there isn't...you know...Palisades Park up the Palisades Parkway, Newport in Jersey City, Willowbrook in Wayne, Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, New York City,
urban enterprise zones everywhere...)
That said: It's a really nice phone, so far. I should probably calibrate the touch screen, though - it seems a bit unresponsive. But e-mail and stuff seems really fast on it. So what if it's not a Droid - not like I need one (and its hideously expensive plan) anyway.
Ended up breaking it in by talking to one of my friends for nearly an hour. And calling Dad and asking him what he wanted from Dunkin'. (Incidentally, though Dunkin' Donuts is based out of...I believe Quincy, MA, it is totally a Jersey institution. At our old apartment, we literally had one right up the block from another one. At our current, we have one right down the street and another out by the Passaic River - and we live less than a mile from the river.) And I tested it by signing up for e-mail alerts and e-mailing myself (I have a more "professional" e-mail, and a personal one).
...I gave my professional one (which is my real name) instead of my personal one (which is close to this LJ username - not my old the_phoenix_r one). Which is a good thing, because I remembered that the personal one had an e-mail near the top that...was rather incriminating.
And my dad is playing with his new gift - well, one of them, anyway. Wii Resort. He also got Super Mario Bros. Wii. I told him that I'd probably be jacking that one. tee-hee.
