Do You Have a Joint???It'd Be Better If You Did..

Today I woke up at 11:00 A.M. to watch the match between Germany and Sweden (For the record, the forward pair of Klose and Bodolski along with Ballack in the middle, might be good enough to get Germany to the finals. Germany beat Sweden 2-0.) After I had eaten a bowl of Lucky Charms, made myself some coffee, I watched the game 'til 1:00 and then ( Read more... )

Hey now...Klose gets more credit than Bodolski (deservedly so with 4 goals and 2 assists) and you know it. Podolski's just their Michael Owen-wannabe-wunderkind that every media outlet in Germany is trying to promote. It ain't gonna work though because Podolski looks like he had his face hit with a shovel.

By-the-by...what's with EVERYONE dissin' on England. No one's giving them a chance against Portugal and people are still criticizing Beckham. The man's scored 2 goals from free kicks (I count the Paraguayan own-goal...it just skimmed off the crown of his head) and placed a gamewinning cross on Peter Crouch's gangley-ass noggin from 40 yards away. If one more person calls Becks overrated I'm going to take a bottle of Carlsburg and use their eye as a bottle opener. Oh yeah, we haven't lost yet either! Who the fuck cares if England wins ugly and by the skin of their teeth each time. Have you seen the country that breed's these players? They aren't supposed to be graceful and sublime like the Brazilians or meticulously regimented like the Germans. They win the good ole fashioned British way, by grinding it out for 90 minutes and scoring your only goals off of set pieces.

Huzzah!

HELL YES. (You're right about the Podolski-Owen comparison, and it won't work...Owen's much hotter.) I admit that England hasn't played fantastically, but, as you say, they're winning and that's what matters. I'd hate to see them lose to Portugal, though that may be what's in the cards. You're so right about Beckham. I'm relatively new to the sport and I came in with a "What's all the fuss about?" attitude, but he's blown me away, and he's not even at the top of his game. That free kick in the Ecuador game was gorgeous, seriously. And you're right - anyone who can make Crouch look like he has coordination has loads of talent. Go England!
