This was wonderfully sweet, and feels absolutely right because damn it, there *would* be an adjustment period to bonding, but I've always read stories were they're just bonded and everything's hunky dorey (unless of course it was Mirror!Spock/McCoy, because that almost always ended with McCoy getting the bad end of the stick).
Huh. I was under the impression that a "drabble" was just a really short story (under 1,000 words)? Does it mean something different in the fandom?

Thank you! That warms the cockles of my heart. ;) But oh man, Mirror!Spock and McCoy bonded? How evil! I haven't seen any stories about that yet, but now I'll keep an eye out for them.
You're off by a zero, drabbles tend to be something around 100 words (double drabbles = around 200 words). A short story is still a short story (I call them ficlets, but thats not a known word in any fandom to my knowledge.)
Hee, they exist, you just have to dig for them. Want a link or two?
Loved it! Though I wouldn't call it a drabble...

I especially recommend the last series by J. Rosemary Moss for MU!Spock/McCoy bonds, but the majority are worth reading ^_^.
