Good news..."I just saved a bunch on my car insurance". No, I made an -A on my paper! Went from a +C on my first paper to an -A on my second! Woo hoo! I still need to revise my third paper. I can hardly wait. And I still need to talk to Dan about my papers for his class. Grr.

Something funny...Yesterday, in orchestra, we had a student conductor. His name is Mike, he's a senior and a clarinetist. He's conducting the Egmont. He's so dramatic! I wanted to laugh and laugh and laugh. The only people who could get away with that behavior without anyone laughing is Mozart or Beethoven. Even with a well respected and world-renown conductor of our time, it would look strange and funny. But at least you'd have some respect for them, regardless. This guy was just plain funny. When he first started, I was thinking, 0_0. When we stopped, I put my violin in front of my face and laughed off to the side to Joni. She just smiled and rolled her eyes. However, he at least was able to keep the beat, which is hard for a piece like this. I felt myself pining to conduct my string orchestras from the art school, like I did last year in my apprecticeship. I hope we have more student conductors. It's entertaining. I just feel so bad for them when they mess up. The orchestra as a whole shows no mercy.

Something sad…In Music Lab this past Tuesday, I asked everyone how their fall break was. There’s only 5 of us, including myself. All girls except for one guy. His name is David. He told me he flew up to New York to see his girlfriend. Of course I responded with, “Aaaaaaaaaaw! That’s so sweet, I bet she loved that.”
“She dumped me while I was there.”
“…oh my word. You’re kidding.”
“No, no I’m not. *forlorn laugh, looks down at the keyboard*”
That upset me.

Today...I had a full day. The first music concert I had today was great, much better than the one on Tuesday. Three guys sang and two girls. I don’t know what it is about the male voice that’s so wonderful. I love it so much more than the female voice. I didn’t like the girls at all, but the guys did a fantastic job. It’s not because I like the male voice better than the female voice, it’s because the guys just plain did better. Jamie’s song was fantastic. The concert at 7:30 was wonderful. Joni and Dr. Cook were amazing. Enough said. The study group didn't end up being that helpful. No one would be quiet and no one would focus. So I'm going to be up late tonight to study at the last second. Where's my hot chocolate...
