H50 Episode 2.06 coda (missing scene) drabble
I've been sitting on this for a couple of days (since I rewrote the version I did right after the ep two weeks ago) - oh what the hell. Shouldn't be too trepidant to post this little thing.

Summary: Coda/missing scene for ep. 2.06 (when Team Five-0 is together after Steve’s show fight) - Danny was really disappointed Steve had to leave before they could have their own tussle...

Notes: Beta’d by my sis llandorian. Only my second posting of fic (if 200-odd words even count as that)! Putting something out there still makes me nervous o_O
McGarrett had gone to take a shower and Danny was frustrated. He had really been looking forward to a friendly wrestling match with Steve, who’d been hot and sweaty after his big show fight. However, Danny swore that when his partner had looked at his team after receiving the text, he had seen a bit of disappointment in his eyes. Like Steve had enjoyed their camaraderie and playfulness too much and hadn’t been thrilled by the idea of leaving. After all, they’d nailed their case and he’d just had a fight for charity - the guy deserved a bit of downtime. His partner had excused himself and had told them he had to go meet his SEAL instructor. So maybe Danny was wrong and McGarrett’s gloomy look had been all about that message he’d received from Joe.
Steve returned, fully clothed (another disappointment for Danny) five minutes after hitting the shower. Before he headed out the door though, he whispered to Danny in passing “If you’re still up for it later, I’ll take you on tonight… winner gets to choose top or bottom afterwards?”
Danny’s grin certainly answered Steve’s question. Not so bad after all then - this way they’d be in private and until then he could still enjoy the anticipation.
They would both be winning anyway.
