dear blog readers,
whenever there's a full moon, people act weird. scratch that. they act weirder. this is LA, people are just weird in general.
it started from the second i woke up yesterday, and continued throughout the day. the whole day.
i woke up at 7am yesterday. i was supposed to catch my first bus to work at 6:56. oh yeah, special. so i utter "shit" and jump out of bed, literally, run to the bathroom. pee, wash my hands, then face, and brush my teeth. scoop my jewelry off the counter into my hand, and run back to my room. dump the jewelry in my purse, grab my work clothes, throw them on, grab my purse, and i'm out.
being that it was sunday, the buses run less frequently, and at weird times. i knew that i had missed the first bus, and another one on that line wouldnt drop me off where the second bus picks up until after the second bus was scheduled to pick up. damn it! i know!
so i had a genuis idea that i would walk to the second bus stop. it's only like half a mile down the road, and i had fifteen, maybe twenty minutes. i could soooo do it.
haha.
im only a block down the road from home, and i realize that i'm not going to be able to make it. as im crossing the street, i look up to the heavens and whisper "please let me be on time to work" .... i get across the street and turn to see if i see a bus coming ... any bus coming ... and i see a taxi van. swear to Him. so i wave at the dude, and he comes to my rescue.
i an now convinced that knights in shining armor are not riding white horses. they're driving yellow vans / cars.
so i get in and tell him the cross streets where the second bus picks up, and he gets me there with about two minutes to spare. i was happy.
i did get some strange looks from people at the bus stop though. i mean, taking a taxi to a bus stop ... it isnt really something that you see every day. but hey, lots of people have a friend / roommate / family member drop them off at the bus stop, i just opted for a taxi. i've never been normal. sue me.
soooo the bus ride to work was fairly normal, as well as our store meeting. even after the meeting, things were normal for a little while.
because neither of us worked until 3, and i didnt want to go all the way home and back, lerna and i went shopping at a mall close to work. i spent under $100, and i got four pairs of jeans, some cute new thongs, two t-shirts (one of which im returning) and a denim vest. good? i know.
so after we were done shopping, we went to the food court for lunch. the food court had a lot to choose from, but they didnt have enough seating!!!! thankfully we were able to grab a table as someone was getting up, but damn it was crowded. lunch was good though. i ate at this pizza place called sbarro's, and i had pizza where the toppings weren't actually on top of the pizza, they were stuffed inside the whole pizza. it was like having another crust on top of your pizza .... soooo good. oh yeah, and it was stuffed with pepperoni and sausage. too die for greasy goodness.
and after lunch, the weirdness began again
as soon as we pulled out of the parking garage, we saw a portapottie that had been tipped over. we took pictures. and its even funnier because in the background is bloomingdales .... hilarious
when we get back to work, we decide to stop at starbucks, because we were both about to fall asleep ... i swear i need a caffeine iv drip or something! anyways, right after lerna got her coffee, she was walking to the condiments counter to add her cream and whatever, and this guy takes a small side step into her, causing her to spill her coffee on her hand. remember boys and girls, this coffee was just handed to her about 15, maybe 20 seconds ago. it's still a little hot. and what does this guy say to her? "oh," (laughs) "sorry" not sincere. he didnt even act like he was sorry. lerna gives him a look and was like "dude, you just backed into me" he responds with "oh, come on. its not that hot." i jump in with "she just got it, its scalding" he looks at lerna and retorts "oh well, sue them, not me, i dont have any money" and walks off with his ugly ass leopard pants, green converse that are about to fall apart, and a t-shirt that reads "leave me alone" gladly, you lonely cranky old fart. and the woman that he was with didnt even feel the need to apologize for him after he went to sit outside. like he didnt do anything wrong?!?!?!?
at work things were more or less normal .... i mean its retail, how normal can it be? it was sunday, which instantly made it like three times more insane than any weekday, but more or less it was okay.
after work, i go down to the bus stop to begin my trek home. i was there about 6 minutes before the bus was supposed to be there, but sometimes they run early, and i was a little worried i had missed it. especially since the next one running that route wasnt coming for an hour. well, there's this lady with a backpack standing there at the stop, normal enough looking, right? im about 30 feet away, and i go to ask her "excuse me, are you waiting for the 233?" i get to about "are" and she turns her back to me and practically runs away as she screams "shut up! dont talk to me! i dont like women!" what the fuck? so i just sit and wait for the bus. and the not so normal lady sits down too, but not next to me, not even near me.
we get on the bus, and theres the homeless man that i gave my leftover fries the other night. he smiles and waves, and i do the same. i wasnt up for much conversation tonight. i have a feeling that i'll see him again, though. so i go to sit at the back, and when the homeless man gets off, he goes to say something to the crazy lady, who i now think is homeless as well, and she turns from him and says something to the effect of "leave me alone"
freaks
this world is full of freaks
so i get home, ready to relex for the night .... but oh, no, the night's not over yet.
edwin tells me if i was something to eat, i can borrow his car.
suh-weet.
so i go cruisin santa monica blvd, looking for something that's open at 11pm on a sunday night .... mcdonald's!!!!
i go into order, and the lady behind the counter greets me with "hola" now i dont know much spanish, but we kinda talked back and forth a little bit with what i do know. it was fun, actually. as i left, i said "buenos noches, hasta manana" and i hear a laugh from someone behind me in the dining area. i turn around as im walking out the door, and theres this total hottie sitting there smiling at me. whatever, i was too hungry to make new friends for the night. (oh, but i met a cute guy on the bus on the way home from work, haha) so i get in the car, and look back at the restaurant, and he waves at me. cute. weird. and funny. so as i drive off, i give him the double honk, and go home
nothing more happened that was weird, and im hoping that today will be normal
but its monday, so there's noooo telling
xoxo dani
