The nurse on the other end clears her throat nervously. "Major Janson. This is New Republic Military Hospital. I have it in my records that you are Lieutenant Inyri Forge's emergency contact.

"Can you confirm, please, sir?"

His eyes widen and he sits up properly, suddenly awake. That's not the kind of thing he expected to hear.

"Yeah -- yeah, I am. What's goin' on?"

"I'm sorry sir," The nurse murmurs. "There's been an accident. Lieutenant Forge was shot in a midlevel bar tonight. Her injuries are very serious. She's in a bacta tank just now..."

The nurse swallows. "It's very serious."

"Is she-- is she gonna be okay? Why was she-- how long ago did this happen?"
