It seems like everyone wishes they could relive their high-school years. Me? I'd rather relive junior-high. Junior-high was sweet. Seventh grade and eighth grade were two of the best years of my life. Seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth grade were (along with my college years and my first year in the MPA) the best years of my life, to be more exact. Lately I've been getting all of the great memories from those times back via the internet. I found a site that has all the original MMPR episodes available for download (MMPR was a HUGE part of my life in junior high as my sister could tell you) and I found a site that has all the songs that were ever featured in California Dreams (another huge part of my life in the eighth grade). Listening to the Dreams and watching old eps of MMPR again have just made me remember how great those times were. It would be, as I more or less said above, awesome to go back to the 1994-96 era when I was in junior-high. Being thirteen and fourteen was great. It's a great age to be. Those years are more or less the last years that you have your childhood innocence and youthful naivety. Those are the years before you have to worry about drugs, sex, high-school bullies, college, graduate school, and the whole 9-5 existence.
Those were the times that I could wake up, watch some Gargoyles and VR Troopers and then head off to school. Those were the days that I was the class clown and those were the days before homework was complex and sucky. Those were the days that I could come home, watch some VR Troopers, X-Men, and MMPR. Those were the days that I could spend many guilt-free hours playing Killer Instinct for the SNES and those were the days I could spend a shitload of money on comics without having to worry about saving money for college textbooks.
Who would have thought that the WWW (worldwide web) would have singlehandedly given me back all of the excellent memories that I've lost touch with over the years? Thank you modern technology (and download sites). Thank you very much.
I think that having the option to download the whole MMPR soundtrack pretty much inspired me to write this post.
