Let's have a moment of silence....

...for Bob "Gilligan" Denver. I just found out that he died.
That sucks that he died. That's pretty upsetting for me because I'm a HUGE fan of Gilligan's Island. I used to stay up really late and watch GI when I was a kid.
I remember those times well. It was the summer before I was in the eighth grade and we just got cable. I would stay up late and I would watch Northern Exposure at midnight and then two episodes of Gilligan's Island after that. Channel 13 (Washington's "Fox" channel) would have that line up every weeknight. I would stay up and watch those shows and I would work on sone comics that I was drawing and then I would go to bed and sleep in until noon the next day. This was basically my schedule that summer: I would wake up, play with my power ranger toys (yes, I still played with Power Rangers when I was 13) for an hour and then I would just sit around the house watching TV for the rest of the day. At night I would do the whole Northern Exposure/Gilligan's Island routine and then I would repeat the whole cycle the next day.
Man, those were some good times.
My parents thought it was hilarious that I would stay up late just to watch episodes of a corny show that had been cancelled thirty years or so earlier.
The funny thing is that I couldn't watch TV all day even if I wanted to now. I would just feel like I've wasted an entire day doing nothing.
That's the funny thing about lounging around and doing nothing. It seems great when you're a kid but it just seems kind of sad and boring when you're old.

At any rate...
I'll miss you Bob. Thank you for the memories. :)
