.. just around the riverbend!

so i spent the weekend in a car with my parents.. my divorced parents.. both of them.. in the same car.. together..

you can imagine what i was doing most of the time.. and yes, drugs were involved.

actually.. on our way down there i got sick and since we were just outside of morrow we stopped at TRUETTS! i was excited. got something to eat, which helped my stomach a bunch. ended up taking a ton of advil and pepto and passing out.. slept most of the way, which was pretty nice =)

the point of us going down was, of couse, to find me an apartment for next year. i found two i liked, both different styles..

the first one was more of your typical apartment style.. two buildings - one coed, one female. each room had its own bathroom and mini-kitchen area (with fridge and microwave provided), plus there's a giant community kitchen, washer and dryer on each floor, exercise room, lounge area, and.. a pool. i love the pool part. and the private bathroom, even though i'd be sharing it with my roommate (it's better than an entire floor!)

the second one was more of a sorority-style dorm house.. all female with community bathrooms, but really nicely furnished. the bathrooms even had a private jacuzzi! the girl who showed us through the house got incredibly excited about showing the bathrooms.. one had a washer and dryer (in case you wanted a hot towel after your bath), one had an ice machine? (in case you wanted to cool down?) of course, when i found out she had a pet that was illegal in the state of georgia i got a little suspicious of just how credible her advice could be. plus, she was incredibly ditzy and knowing that she was the "social chair" for the house kind of turned me off about it.

so.. pretty much i think i've decided i'm going with the first place. Windsor Hall. it's not too far from campus.. in fact, we drove around a whole bunch to get a feel of just how far everything would be. i could definitely walk to most of the places, maybe have to take a bus to the far ends. found where the College of Journalism and Communications was, and luckily i have a pretty large marker to point the way (it's right next to the stadium). i won't be having a car down there, at least for my first year. so looks like i'm gunna be bikin it or hikin it.

right now, we're unsure about who my roommate is going to be. it was suppose to be this one girl, Amy Atwater.. also a freshman, had a lot of things in common with me (according to her application). apparently she might not be there anymore though says my dad, so who knows. i just hope i get put with another freshman. that was my one request with living in the apartments..

oh, and i'm debating whether or not to join a sorority. i know, i know. some of you may cringe at the idea, but i think it might actually be something worthwhile to at least look into. i know it's going to be a lot different living off campus than it would in the dorms, so i think joining a sorority would be a good way to meet people.. and especially if my roommate ends up not being a freshman. plus, my apartment is right next to sorority row. still got some research to do about all of it though.

what do you think? ;)
