"I am surrendering to gravity and the unknown"

So I just saw Iron Man 3. I have some thoughts and squees and this reminded me of why I love Tony Stark so much. I was very happy with the movie. Some may bitch that it wasn't action filled, but it was filled with character development.

Thoughts, in no particular order:
-Pepper was bad-ass. She launched fire and rode in the Iron Man suit multiple times. Seriously she fucked Killian up.

-Tony having PTSD made me very happy. It was good to see him feeling repercussions for going through aliens and talking to gods. It lent him a very humanizing tone that previously has not been seen in the movies as much. It was great to see such character development.

-The last line "I am Iron Man" made me happy. Because he will not retire, he will always be Iron Man as long as he is Tony Stark. It's part of who he is, it's just no longer a crutch for him.

-Pepper being "cured" so quickly and off screen kind of made me a little annoyed because the ending was just a little bit too clean for my tastes then. In my head canon she wasn't a hundred percent cured and will have to deal with the repercussions of genetic fiddling.

-The references to "The Master" just makes me think that AIM was working for Thantos, maybe the Chitauri with Thantos controlling them. I mean both "the Mandarin" and Maya reference "The Masters". With The Mandarin you are supposed to think he is talking about Killian, but Maya says it to Gillian. My only other thought would be the AIM is working for HYDRA, but I would think there would be more of a political cause behind the explosions then rather than just mass chaos.

-The ending scene with Bruce Banner made me stupidly happy for such a small clip. I knew that Tony and Bruce would be hanging out together well after the Avengers was done! It rather looked like they were hanging out in Stark Tower.

-I actually didn't mind them not doing The Mandarin like the comics. To me it would be very hard to do all his magic rings and the character without seeming out of sync in the movie canon.
