"You will find him next to me"

Well good news, I have been feeling a lot better mentally as of last night. Still pissed off at some people, but at least it is focused. It's more like an avenging angel, pinpointed and fierce rather than a enraged tiger. Both are fearsome, but the animal is as likely to hurt itself by lashing out at someone who is not the target. I'd rather be a warrior angel anyway.

The only interesting thing is that my bard's tongue has been acting up something fierce lately. For those of you who have not heard the saying, it is said that bards can tell the truth better than anyone else and in a deeper way, deep to the point of being uncomfortable to some people. I have been pointing out uncomfortable truths about people for the past week now. I mean it has strengthened some relationships, but it is still unnerving how on the ball it has been. I just stare at someone for a couple minutes and cut right through to what has been bothering them to months. The truth is a wonderful thing, I just hope I don't damage someone accidentally. I've been really close a couple of times now.

What have I been up to? Had a stage fight, my biggest performance yet. The crowd was like...100 people but the place was packed. not bad for only a half hour performance, honestly. The plot for the fight was Peter Pan but twisted. The Lost Boys and Peter were vampires and the pirates/Captain Hook were the hunters. I was a hunter fighting John Darling and he ended up killing me at the end. It was very fun and I even had two people ask me to sign the poster of me that was hanging around. Threw me for a bloody loop, it did.

Interesting place to the the performance though, was at Wicked Faire. Wicked Faire is like a fetish festival and a medieval convention had a baby and out popped this thing. It was fun, got to see Voltaire and everything. there were two awesome Loki costumes, one male movie style and another female one with the horns and everythng.

Did see something remarkable though. I think I met a man with real life true faith. Wicked Faire has a bunch of panels and me and a couple friends decided to go to one on demonology. I figured it would be humorous at its worst and I might learn something at the best. The main guy who was the host was arrogant and annoyed me. But he had this priest with him. Typically I don't buy into people who do exorcisms, and I don't buy into priests being any more holy than the average person. I have seen far too many people literally tortured because they were thought to be possessed and atrocities committed by people of faith for me to believe fully. in any faith. This man was impressive though. Like Father Forthill from the Dresden Files impressive. He had this peace about him that you only find in people who truly believe was they believe in. His case was filled with some impressive shit. I wish I could have looked through his occult books, all leather bound and written in Latin and given to him by cardinals. It's something a knowledge and occult fanatic like me lives to read. But of course I couldn't even touch the thing, my little pagan hands would taint the damn things too much. He also had a cross with a piece of wood that Jesus was crucified on that he got from the Vatican. I felt the faith flowing off this thing. That thing had 2013 years of belief stored in it. It doesn't matter if it really has the wood from Jesus' cross in it, it had enough belief behind it that it doesn't matter what the truth is. That thing felt and would do the same exorcism job. He had a movie exorcists dream relics in that cast. This man is one of those people that you could just tell has seen a lot of things. He is one of those people I just want to talk to because his personality is fascinating and I would love to know what makes him tick. Not what I expected to find at all.

Emile Sande's voice is wonderful by the way. She just has this sensitive, soulful delivery that I am really digging lately. Guess something in it just resonates with the mournful tone of my heart lately.

Picked up wood burning as a hobby. I keep having ideas for fantasy based burnings. Think I will do a few and see how they turn out. No reason not to, wood is cheap and the slow pace at which you have to do it makes me less likely to get sloppy with it. The only negative is that now occasionally my house will smell like burning human flesh from where I mess up.

faith, performance., demons, burnings, music, dresden files
