Yay!
So. I skipped class today half on accident... half because I was locked out of my room.
Ran into my good friend Jackie in Jewelery and Metalsmithing today. She told me that Pam (my Art Ed teacher) had told her in class that after the semi-presentation I gave to the scholarship funders they decided to donate more money for Art Education scholarships! lol. They were supposed to just be checking on what we are doing in class... but apparently they were so impressed that they bumped up their donations and potentially creating a whole nother' art ed scholarship opportunity (thus making 3!). Yay!!!! Apparently I did do well. My teacher emailed me afterward telling me how good of an impression I made on them and how complimentary they were of me!
Eat that person who didn't give me the scholarship originally. lol. Well, next year I'm a shoe-in. I just feel so accomplished right now, like I'm doing so well in something. I mean I've always been good at art and music, but now scholarly achievements as well? Weird.
Even weirder though, next March I'll be flying to NY for the National Art Education Association (NAEA) conference. I'll also be doing a presentation with a friend or two about some new art education idea. We just haven't brain stormed it yet. I'm not sure how many people will specifically be at my presentation, but it's a mix of doctors, teachers, and students alike.
Sorry... I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging. I'm just excited! I'm excited that I've kind of found my niche in life and something I can continue to always be passionate about.
Ah. So the rest of the day was kind of nice too. I walked around in the sun doing some arrends. It was refereshing oddly enough. This lil' vampire doesn't like day time... so it was nice not feeling like I'm melting Wizard of Oz style.
