Event Post 21 - Cliffside Angst

*The sun is setting over the island and Juudai can be seen sat on part of a cliff, just down the dirt road from Osiris Red. It's sunset by this time and the sky is a beautiful mix of orange, red and yellow. Juudai watches the calm ocean in front of him for a while before looking down at his deck that he has fanned out in his hands

...However, he's also spotted Uebel. While the color does drain quite a bit from his face, he tries his hardest to imagine that she isn't there (read: utterly fails to), and goes over to Juudai. Smiles, but it's obviously a bit more strained than usual.*

*If the situation was different, Yubel would of been tempted to tease Shikou and wave at him, but no, Juudai needs his friends right now, so scaring him off is out of option, so instead she just looks at him, but doesn't move.

Juudai looks up when he hears Shikou's voice and gives him a small smile*

Ah, yeah. It's a nice evening.

*Shikou is very thankful that you're not going to be screwing with him at the moment.

Sits next to Juudai; it's weird looking down at people, for him.*

It is. The wind feels nice, as it comes in from the ocean... The air smells clean, and even the sunset itself looks beautiful...

I'm sure it must be relaxing to you.

*Juudai nods in agreement to what Shikou says*

It really is.

*Shikou takes a moment himself to enjoy the view... He looks honestly pretty tense, and has been carrying something with him at his side, away from Juudai and Uebel's view. He places whatever it is down onto the ground next to him, and places his hands in his lap instead.*

...You never did answer me, Juudai... Did I end up being right, on my guess?

*Juudai looks back up at Shikou with a slight sad expression. If you happen to notice Yubel's expression, that too turns to a vauge look of sad concern. She knew this was the reason why... and now Juudai knows too. Juudai looks back towards the ocean again and gives a small nod*

It would make the most sense.

*Does take note of the expressions.* ...Hahah... It would, wouldn't it? If it is, then I really don't blame you, for not being able to enjoy dueling... So many things that happened... All those duels you did before going against Darkness, as well.

...It really makes me want to pity you, Juudai. You don't deserve to have the happiness, no, the excitement of the game you decided to play, not come to you... You honestly deserve a lot more than that.

*As Shikou speaks, Juudai's sad expression becomes a little worse*

I've been through so many sad and painful duels, which the memories of can't be erased. I've become a stronger and more powerful person because of them but...
...that's what I lost in the process... my ability to see duels as fun.

*...Feels slightly guilty that he made you feel worse.* Maybe... Maybe your mind just feels as though it needs to stay ready, in the case that something might occur again.... When something happens multiple times, the human mind will tend to just adopt the "mode" that it's usually in during then... Even when nothing is occurring.

Maybe you just need more repeated instances of duels that are actually fun, so you can ease yourself out of it.

*Juudai nods every so often as Shikou talks*

I guess it's worth a try.

*Stares at Juudai for a bit... Before shaking his head, and laying down on the ground. Juudai might spot something that looks oddly like the hilt of the sword... Before Shikou moves his arm, which obscures the view of it.*

Sorry I'm not really able to help you cheer up, Juudai... Kinda wish I could help more, though.

*Juudai does spot that, but doesn't question it, he may of seen wrong. Besides, this is SHIKOU he's talking to*

It's okay, if anything you've at least helped me to figure out why I feel like this... it's just if I can ever gain that feeling back...

...At least I did help... *closes his eyes, as though resting* Though, you probably can get it back. If you resign yourself to its' loss now, it will never return... Better you have faith in something like that, so there's always a chance of it occurring, now matter how impossible it may seem.

If the memories of painful duels are what's stopping me from enjoying dueling, then it does seem impossible to gain back that feeling. But maybe somewhere along the way, I will find a way to gain it back.

Memories are just that. Memories. They might stay in our minds for quite a long time... And in some cases, they might come back to the surface once more...

But there are many times when they just silence themselves, becoming content to just stay in the back of the mind, allowing the person who possesses them to move on.

*Grins slightly at Juudai* If memories truly stayed at the front of everyone's minds, Juudai, human beings wouldn't last as long as they do.
