I'm on rotation at the VA. it sucked big ol' donkey balls at first. It was hard and I felt like I had no clue what I was doing. but it's better now. I actually do know what I'm doing and most of the time I do the right thing. Let's face it, I'm still learning so I'm not perfect, but most of the time I'm doing things correctly. It's tough getting used to a new system and there is a very set system at the VA. It's also tough cause Matt (my preceptor) is like a super genius...probably one of the smartest guys I've ever met. He's a nice guy but he's intimidating as heck. Regardless, I think things are going well now which is peachy keen.
The best part of the rotation though, is the other two students that have been on it with me. One is another UC guy (Evan) that I've known for a few years and the other was a Butler guy (Keny...I know, it's weird) that was just here for three weeks with us. I had so much fun with them. We all got along so well and I've laughed so much these past three weeks. Keny is such a sweetheart. Jenny, you'd like him cause he's a Republican. We were sitting at our computers one day and he's like look at this. He then proceeds to crack up and show me this email he got from a friend of "Obama Supporters" where it's a bunch of people in their mugshots wearing Obama tshirts. It was hilarious. And get this: he doesn't text. He turns off his phone at night. I think he's probably the only person under the age of 70 who doesn't text. He's just a really good person. Ang genuinely good people are hard to come by. I miss him. Evan's still here and we get along well, but it's like there's something missing. Moral of the story: I loved this rotation for the people who were on it with me.
I'm looking forward to this weekend cause I don't have to work Saturday or Sunday. Heck yes!
