So guys, I could use a little life advice.
A month ago, on a whim, I applied for a job as a tour guide/sample-giver-outer at Harpoon Brewery in Boston (the official job title is Beer Captain, lol) . I love their beer and I love talking about beer, and I thought it would be super fun. The listing didn't mention hours, schedule, pay, or benefits, but my best guess is it's probably a part time gig.
So, weeks went by and I never heard back (they emphatically ask you not to call them). I had given up on it, and felt slightly bummed, because my cover letter was awesome.
And then TONIGHT, exactly a month after I sent in my application, I get an email asking if I can come in for an interview next week. AGH.
So I'm kind of torn. It would be awesome, obviously, but would I want a long commute everyday? What if it's only part time and wouldn't pay enough? Would it be worth it anyway? Is it impolite to inquire these things before I agree to an interview?
I'm getting ahead off myself, they might not even like me. But ugh I'm stressing myself out, and I haven't even set up an interview yet. HOW DO I DEAL WITH THESE ADULT THINGS, TEACH ME YOUR SECRETS.
I guess I really have nothing to lose except a day off and a lot of stressing, right?
...right?
