hello, internet. I haven't been around much in the last couple days, because I've been sick. It started with a headache Friday night and morphed into some kind of stomach bug/general not-fun time. Apparently it's going around my department lately, my bff and his mom have it too (clearly it targets gingers) I tried to go to work today, but was so miserable that they let me go home early. I have tomorrow off, so hopefully one more day of moping in bed will take care of it.
In the meantime, in between throbbing headaches and insomnia, I've been knitting. As usual. And lately I am into knitting HATS. because FALL IS COMING, PEOPLE. sooner than you think, and my head can't be left unprotected. (Plus, hats are a quick, nearly-instant gratification project, which I need sometimes)
So here are Several Things that I Actually Knit, from that 100 things meme of things I planned to knit, eventually.
Herringbone Hat pattern I am SO stoked with how this one came out. It's comfy and super warm and I can't wait to wear it all the time. The thickness, and the way it sorta stands up tall instead of slouching back, reminds me of the kind of hats kids wear. It's sort of young and adorable, instead of trendy or whatever. The color work was a bit of a pain. Easy, but tedious. I think I'll make my dad one for Christmas, in his company colors.
Rooty hat pattern Not a big fan of the colors (they were just some scraps I had lying around), but I like the patten. The back is different, and I like the little pigtail braids. I'll probably make myself another in different colors and give this one away.
Scoops hat pattern Another project to use up a bunch of scrap yarns. I adore bright colors, the more the better. It's super comfy, I didn't wanna take it off, even though it was 9 degrees the day I finished it. Super easy and super casual.
I am never going to be bear-headed this winter. I think I'm also in the mood to get back to knitting socks...eeeee fall makes me so excited!
