It was a good year for my guild. I'm ridiculously proud of all of them. Actually, not a good year, but the best year in my memory. I wish it had been a better year for me, but maybe next year. I am a bit frustrated that a gig I enjoyed and that the audience really responded to was shut down because a few people (not the director, not the management, and not the audience) didn't like it. I'm frustrated that I was asked not to respond to the arguments, or to even acknowledge the controversy, a request that I am dishonoring now that it's over and won't affect anything, and because it apparently still isn't dead even though the entire gig was killed almost before it started.
But I don't want to resurrect the argument (and in fact, will delete any comments about it), it's only an expression of my frustration over not being able to find another method of connecting to the audience so well. I really loved the one on one contact the gig gave me, and wasn't able to find another way of connecting with them without that. That's on me, I know. I was not on top of my game. It's just...
It was the only gig that really made me happy this year. That's all.
Next year will be better. Next year I will be better. Next year I will find another way to connect with the audience on that level.
A few good things.
I threw my songbook in the Well. The pages did absorb water and one tore when we were a bit careless with it while it was still wet, but the ink did not run and the book dried well. Next year: a better oiled cover. I am very proud of that book. Unfortunately, it did not make me a better singer. Ver 2. will be better, and hopefully having the book will make me more willing to practice. The real goal of the book is not to need it at all.
I got some very good pictures. My favorites were early in the run and are posted on my flickr site.

i.iambe I renewed some old friendships.
I flirted, I played, and I got my parents out to Faire for the first time in at least 6 years and they finally started to understand why I need to do this. They saw who I am when I am there and they saw me happy. My mom told me that they haven't seen me this happy in a very long time, which has made me reevaluate some things.
Right now I'm tired and dehydrated, so I'm off to get some Emergen-C. I won't be there for teardown as I promised my mother a visit.
Love you all-
