no more mercedes

well, its not a terribly shocking development but after some unpleasantness that doesnt really need to be rehashed here for so many reasons, i quit my job today.

since i dont plan on leaving austin any time soon and that was the only benz dealer in town, i guess i've reached the end of the road with MB. to say this isnt the way i wanted it to end would be an understatement but unfortunately that one dealership, of many many MB dealers in the country, beat the soul out of the job for me. i stayed there for many many months longer than i should have simply because it was Benz and i didnt want to work for any other manufacturer. and that still remains true but sometimes you just have to do things you dont want to do.

im not really sure what im going to do yet. due to the shitty, shady way things went down, i wont be getting unemployment so i have to kinda move quickly. but also carefully. i dont want to end up at another job i know im not going to like but am taking it for other reasons. thats what i did with MB of Austin and the price was high. i have some automotive related jobs lined up as possibilities. the most prominent one is with Audi. which, in many ways, seems like it could be a return to the old school way things were in d.c. so i AM excited about that but im also looking at things outside of the auto field. unfortunately, all my schooling is very specifically focused on mercedes benz so essentially that means i have no schooling at all.

not that its any kind of secret, but i'd really like to work at a bike shop. i have some feelers out there but they're weak to totally non-effective. so we'll see what happens. as for now, im just going to take the rest of the week to relax and regroup and start fresh on monday.
