Under the works
Dear Ms. Miley:

I know you are a very busy news director, but I would like to thank you for taking the time to come out to Miramar High School to speak to the journalism class. I also want to let you know that I appreciated it very much. It is very comforting to know that you care enough about your community to come out to the local high school and speak to the students. I was unfortunately unable to be there during your presentation to the class becaus I had to attened a senior assemby, I apologize for this.

Although I was not present, from what I’ve heard by classmates you gave a wonderful, informational presentation. Most students including myself did not really know how the journalism world works outside the high school news room. By using experiences you’ve gone through it’s allowed me to view this career in a new light. I am an assignment and features editor at the school newspaper. I love to write and write about things that concern me and want to get topics known, controversial or not.

Journalism was a class I was thrown into in my junior year and I became interested in it more and more as the year went on. Learning the writing styles has helped my writing even more and I like learning further about journalism and the works.

Thank you so much for your patience and hope you visit our school to speak to the future journalism students in the near future.

Sincerely,

Melody Torres, Features/Assignement Editor
