For my Wellness class... our teacher had us write down a missions statement. I really enjoyed thinking about it, and the process of writing it. Mine was a little long *length seems to deter from the roots*, but I received full credit. It's an outline of how we want to live our lives based on values, morals, and beliefs. I added a few things since i turned it in, which is posted here. The more you update it to fit your life... the more you get from it.
I want to raise a family. I want to be a truly dedicated wife in a committed loving, marriage, thus overcoming any examples given to me growing up. I want to raise children that are strong in who they are, and children that can lean on me for guidance and support.
I will never leave my sister, Jen, out of my life. We genuinely need each other.
I will choose a career where I feel a sense of achievement and financial security. I will never compromise my family or integrity for wealth or unrealistic goals. I seek always to maintain my health as well as the health of those I love, and to truly love others.
I want to set an example for people around me by being sure of who I am and what I stand for, without being dominating. I want always to maintain my zest for life, optimism for the future, and to have the capacity to grow from my experiences by always continuing to learn more. To be respected for my accomplishments and to respect and acknowledge others for the remarkable things they do is important.
I want to have the ability to admit when I have been wrong, immoral, or judging. I value integrity, ambition, and leadership. I want to lead others to see truly astounding things, as I have seen them.
