For
femslashverse, randomized nine genres. I chose to use Brenda/Sharon for all of mine (surprise, surprise...)
SLASHER
Fritz // The Closer/Major Crimes Slasher Film from
Colleen Kaye on
Vimeo.
if you want a bit more exposition, highlight the text between the brackets:
[ I've had it confirmed by multiple sources that the narrative I was trying to convey is pretty straight forward but, in words, it's pretty much Fritz finds out/figures out/catches Brenda and Sharon having an affair and he snaps and terrorizes them before killing Sharon. Alternatively, the other possible explanation is that Fritz starts mutilating women who look like Sharon to terrorize both Brenda and Sharon. ]
SPORT STARS
I can't get over the idea of Sharon boxing for a couple of reasons. The first being a nod to Laura Roslin being a boxing fan and also I made Sharon's sport/exercise of choice in my Woman Undone rewrite. I was thinking of writing a fic (and still might) where Brenda and Sharon box it out during an LAPD fundraising boxing tournament so that's kind of what's going on here.
OFFICE
Flat out borrowed THE OFFICE. The [indistinct southerning] is a bit of a nod to MST3k's Squirm when Mike says "she is WAY over southerning"
1960S
A delightful 1960s pop rock mix of some of my favorite 60s artists/songs!
Listen to it on Youtube! MUSICAL
Take Me or Leave Me // Brenda/Sharon from
Colleen Kaye on
Vimeo.
I've been wanting to do this song for a while and I mostly am happy with it, I might redo it in future but I'm pretty happy with the words matching up at the end. This was the free space that I chose.
ALIENS
1,2,3,4,5
My aliens spot is basically an X-Files crossover, like if The Closer/Major Crimes was an X-Files, Fringe, Haven-y type show.
1920S/1930S
This was the first one I did. It doesn't really have a narrative this is just the picture I had.
FAE/FAIRIES
In my mind the narrative here is sort of a Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story, 'wrong side of the tracks', uptown girl sort of thing. Brenda is a light fairy and Sharon is a dark fairy and their love is improbably and frowned upon but they fell in love anyway.
HORROR
Quote borrowed from American Horror Story: Asylum
