Now that the craziness has died down, I'm trying to get everything back in order. Everything's been nothing short of wonderful...and I feel so lucky with my current situation. XD
Just to recap: After graduation, my family, Dana, and I drove back in NJ where I took a nice sabbatical for a month. This includes:
- Hanging out with my family and Ate Day Day
- Having the lunch special at Nobi
- Playing Animal Crossing and Big Brain Academy late at night while drinking tea at my kitchen table
- Swimming at the beach and my pool
- Jenny, Niles, and Drew visiting ^_^
- Beating Kingdom Hearts II and then going onto YouTube for the seeeeecret ending
- Sleeping, eating, and having Larissa call me Anne Frank
- Ascending in Guild Wars
- Going to NYC
- Playing Guitar Heroes with Larissa, Marissa, and Chris
- Dana and I being Larissa's guardians for her U.Del orientation
- Painting Duchess's grave marker
- Playing piano
- Watching 34725872 different fireworks from different towns out on the bay
- Packing the night before moving to North Carolina
Dana, my family, Marissa, and I all drove down to North Carolina the 2nd week of July to move me into my brand spanking new apartment. The apartment is awesome and makes me really suspicious because it's a really good deal. I posted pictures of it in Facebook if you're interested. Afterwards, Karl, Dana, and I caught the midnight showing of Pirates 2 and then watched it again the following day on matinee with my family. We also borrowed two abysmal movies, and I must say that Bloodrayne makes Resident Evil 2 look good. o.O;;
My family and Dana left July 9th, and then the following day I started working as a full time artist for Vicious Cycle, the place I interned at last year. I must say that they definitely revamped the place since I last saw it. The company is bent on growth which makes me really excited. There's a lot of projects going on, so people have already started working weekends...but I'm not too bothered by it because the people are so friendly and funny. The camaraderie makes working there a real treat, in addition to the fact that I get paid to animate and make art. XD
The first week was really grueling whenever I returned to my apartment though. With no internet or TV, I had to keep myself busy by watching the 2nd Season of West Wing that my sisters gave to me as a graduation present. Karl and I agreed that he'd come visit me every other day, which made me deal with the fact that I really am living by myself. Trust me, coming from a bustling family that stays awake all hours of the night, along with you guys who were my fellow nightowls during school, I had a very, very difficult time sleeping the night everyone left. In college I knew that there was always a roommate or a friend around the corner; this time, only the geese will hear me scream. (Thank you, lakeside apartments...)
Now that everything is pretty much installed in my apartment, I feel better, and I'm starting to enjoy my freedom. The realization that I'm going to work everyday instead of being a full time student is finally settling in; and that when I come home from work, I don't have to think about anything work-related...I can do whatever I want.
Dana leaves next week, which will really seal the fact that we've all moved onto the professional realm...and that we all can do something after college. Anyway, for all of you who are still job hunting, good luck, and don't lose hope. It is so worth it in the end. Trust me on this. ^_^
