Ok.. so.. this got on my nerves.. so after each point I will be leaving my comment and I don't care if you agree or not.
Yes true that I am not goth anymore.. but still someone has to stand up for the goths that are out there being good christians.
This was handed out to parents by a church * Is Your Child a Goth? Presented by St. Mary's Church Listed below are some warning signs to indicate if your child may have gone astray from the Lord. Gothic (or goth) is a very obscure and often dangerous culture that young teenagers are prone to participating in. The gothic culture leads young, susceptible minds into an imagined world of evil, darkness, and violence. Please seek immediate attention through counselling, prayer, and parental guidance to rid your child of Satan's temptations if five or more of the following are applicable to your child.
*-Frequently wears black clothing. * Yea so wat.
-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts. I know all kinds of kids who arnt goth who wear band shirts.
*-Wears excessive black eye makeup,lipstick or nail polish. * uhm again .. i know ungoth kids who do that.
*-Wears any odd silver jewelry or symbols. * ... so what. not all goth kids wear that crap.
*-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos. *I know ungoth christians who have both.
*-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music. *(Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.) When I was goth.. i didn't listen to him once.. so shove it.
*-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak eccentrically. * yeah.. so what. theres kids who arnt goth who hang out with ppl who act and dress the same.. and they do bad stuff to.. how bout you make a list bashing them .
*-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the Bible, prayer, church or sports. * When i was goth.. i was at church every sunday, i read my bible and prayed.. now what?
*-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic, the occult, witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan. *Not all goths believe in that crap.
-Takes drugs. you don't have to be goth to be doing drugs.
*-Drinks alcohol. *uhm again.. everytype of person drinks.
*-Is suicidal and/or depressed. *you also dont have to be goth to be depressed.
-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation.(This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God and His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local mental health center.) this is a load of CRAP ... when your depressed you dont cut your self because its a santaic ritual and you hate God.. it's because you have a chemical inbalnce that makes you insane.. and if it wasn't for God I would still be insane so shut up .
*-Complains of boredom. *... who the heck doesnt.
*-Sleeps too excessively or too little. *uhm. cuz you have a sleeping disorder your goth?
*-Is excessively awake during the night. *...shut up
*-Demands an unusual amount of privacy. * everyone likes privacy.
*-Spends large amounts of time alone. *... I just don't like people
*-Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your chid may speak to evil sprits through meditation.) *haha.. uhm yeah i want quiteness so i can talk to satan! I WANT QUITENESS BECAUSE I'M TAKING A NAP!!
*-Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an adult. *all kinds of kids do that.
-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and elders are but a few examples of this. uhm.. not just goth kids do that... have you met vincent and arthur?
*-Misbehaves at school. * who the heck doesn't?
*-Misbehaves at home. * again all kids do...
*-Eats excessively or too little *ok so if you anorexic or bolimic your goth now? uhm no.. it just means you have an eating disorder.. no matter what your sterotype is and you should probably get help.. but not from these crazy people.
*-Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of this. * oooh no count chocula is bad! it means your goth and evil! uhm eat some boo berries and shut the heck up.. every kid has eatten that.. its a good .. what the heck did you get hit in the head with a stupid stick!
-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood. (Vampires believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and should be stopped immediately.) hey guess what... thats the vampire kids not the goth.
*-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources. (Ask your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.) * uhm.. so cable tv makes you goth.. oh no i guess we all are.
*-Plays videos games that contains violence or role-playing nature. *

*-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the computer. * don't you have anything better to do?
*-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music. * uhm so i guess when we jump up and down durring praise and worship were being evil.
*-Dances to music in a provocative or sexual manner. * yeah so do all the little cheerleades ... but no way are they evil. shut it.
*-Expresses an interest in sex. * WHO DOENST
*-Masturbates. *... no comment
*-Is homosexual and/or bisexual. * that doesn't make you goth.. it just makes you gay.. Jesus loves the gays.
*-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism, Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism. *
Not all goths do that.. I loved Jesus just as much as I do now when I was goth.
*-Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".* they don't sell woe is me pins.. and none really wears those unless their like the 13 yr olds.
*-Claims to be a goth.* uhm well then thats your only relevant argument.
If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your local mental health center. ~St. Mary's Catholic Church
