This is what makes me want to go and see a good and proper liveband again. Maybe its the headphones I'm wearing but more likely it's the band's energy there.
Or the lack of good concerts. This is what I freaking wanna see, what I miss in the music scene... I cant even put my finger on it. Uh.

I know exactly what you mean, I rarely get hyped out at a gig these days. It may be something to do with my age, but I think the music scene is at least part-way responsible.

I have a feeling Wolf Parade would be this good, if only they'd damn well tour the UK.

I have a feeling most of the gigs (here at least) are just about wearing skinny jeans and jumping around to art brut/kooks-esque/hip indie-electro and showing off.

or all these cool bands who dont interact at all, which is fine with me when the music is so intense that it works, but it mostly doesnt!

Liverpool is pretty much the same, but fortunately it doesn't take long to get to a city with more guts, and I usually have somewhere to stay. I've got Frank Turner and Johnny Flynn coming up in October, and possibly Bat For Lashes in Liverpool just before, but that's extraorindary. For the most part it's all leaning against the bar and considering when the gig's going to be over. Most of the time it feels like half of the audience are there just to say they're at a gig.
