I refuse all gifts, I don't like the holiday and just don't want to deal with it.

Thank you for those who wanted to get me something out of kindness and friendship, but please do not.

I really am not a holiday person especially since a dreaded parent is going to be in town and not enough alcohol will allow me to forget that I have to spend time with her and let the girl meet her...

only good thing is I get the day off from work...
