To Do List for Spring Break
-SSBB. Lots of SSBB.
-Singing poorly (but loudly) to various Broadway musicals while jumping on a trampoline.
-Party at Chris's house involving poker, X-box, and swimming pool.
-Lots of not eating pizza at Round Table.
-A haircut.
-Boardgames new and old.
-Swapping of college stories.
-World domination.
I've recently developed an interest in the GURPS roleplaying system (Generic Universal RolePlaying System, to those who like to know what all the big letters stand for). It purportedly presents basic rules which can be adapted to any style campaign of your choosing, with various supplementary books for added customization. So far all I know about the system I've found out from reading the wikipedia entry and checking out
this free download; next time I'm in Berkeley I'll check out the actual books at the game store (maybe I should add that to the above to do list).
Watched the movie Once Upon a Time in America today. It is the one movie I have ever experienced that could accurately be described as a combination of The Godfather and Fiddler on the Roof; that is, it is a very long movie starring Robert Di Nero as a Jewish gangster. And it's pretty good stuff, if you have the attention span for it.
My Theatre Design project being completed, I actually have very little to do between now and next Friday (when I fly home). It's finals week, which always means that as other people are studying, I lie around doing nothing. I'll probably get my RPG Club folks to invite me over to play more SSBB. That game is, in short, The Shit.
What else? Europa Universalis III remains an awesome game if you're into very slowly conquering the known world in the years between 1453 and 1789. And watching precious hours of your own life quickly vanish, never to be seen again. It is one of those games, like The Sims, that you can put down and pick up again for years.
I've spent the last couple of days with the Portal song running continuously through my head. Maybe tomorrow I'll write the spoof version I was thinking about-- a hypothetical letter to my Culture, Art, and Technology 2 professor.
That is all.
