I backed into a van today. It was completely my fault--I wasn't looking behind me because I *know* my driveway and how far I can back and where the trees are and I wasn't expecting the van to be parked in the driveway since it's always in the garage. If I had any common sense, I would have realized "hey, the van is NOT in the garage today, it must be parked outside."

But I ddin't, and I only figured that out when I heard the slight crunch. At which point I promptly flipped out. I put the car in park (at least I was thinking enough to do that), ran to the back, rubbed at the white marks, gasped at the missing paint chip on my bumber, and did a flying leap back to my car and drove off.

No, it wasn't a hit and run. I guess it technically was, but this was my parent's van so I have no intention of trying to hide it. Besides, it would never work anyway. They notice everything. I'm just waiting for the phone call right now.

So in the meantime, I've been looking up Auto Body repair shops in the phone book and I intend to call every single one of them during my lunch hour because I have no intention of returning home tonight until I have a plan. This way, when my parents get upset with me for not paying attention or being mature enough, I can whip out my estimates on how much it will cost and my bank statement of how much I have in my account, and promise I'll cover all the damage to the red car. Which, hopefully, won't be too bad. I don't think it's dented anyway; I'm pretty sure it's just a little tiny bit of missing paint.

My friend suggested nail polish, and I was so desperate and crazed I actually considered it for a second... Wow, I really need this break...

It's been a terrible day so far, and it's not even 10:00 yet.
