A Day in Ryan's Life
a joint-adiml production with oxrandyyxo
28 February 2007

[it will eventually be crossposted to adayinmylife once everything is actually complete]

There aren't actual pictures of me waking up because I left my camera on my desk and I wasn't about to fake it.

But I [eventually] get to my desk, and check my email at like 6:07AM. I had actually been awake for about a half-hour, just laying in bed waiting for my alarm to go off at 6. I normally get up at 5, but decided I wasn't going to take a shower.

And I select which haphazardly assembled outfit I should wear for my adiml

What I look like first thing in the morning (or at 6:10) isn't very much different from what I look like when I go to bed.

My toothbrush is greeeeeeeen.

I go downstairs to tell my mom to have a fun day.
She's been sleeping on the couch because my dad has to get up super early, and I am staying in the guest bedroom because my bed is in storage (at moon_eyed's house until we are finished moving).

I get in my car to head to school (yay..) and swap Joni Mitchell with Goldfrapp for a little morning pick-me-up.

And I drive away for an exciting adventure at 6:30. The clock in my car is five minutes slow.

Driving on US-40

More driving.

When I have extra time in the mornings, I stop at Starbucks for a morning fix to go with my pick-me-up. Grande iced coffee in a venti cup, 14 squirts of sweetener syrup. Gross.

And, actually, they didn't give me a single squirt of syrup, so I had to put sugar in it.

I like it really sweet...

And I drive past Stephens Hall which really is not all that exciting.

I am parked in the garage by 7:00! Starbucks and all!

Except, in a poor attempt to stir my coffee, it made its way all over my jacket.

Glamour shots ;)

Kristen (moon_eyed) arrives 15 minutes later. We meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for gabtime and breakfast.

She usually has cereal. I go without.

This was right before we got out of the car, for me to trudge to class, and for her to go sit around for two hours :) I was clearly excited

There are these random field houses in the Glen Woods on campus. They're actually pretty cool. I'm hoping that sometime during the summer (or at least once it gets warmer) to trek down to see what they are about.

That very indistinct building at the top of the hill is where I am headed. It takes me an extra five minutes to get there because (a) it is uphill, (b) I am fat, therefore not built for uphill walking.

I'm all sorts of ready for class once I get there, but it is only 7:40, and class doesn't start until 8. No one else was there; could you blame them?!

I have Intro to Sign Language first, from 8:00 until 8:50, then Intro to Psychology from 9:00 to 9:50, and finally Spanish 2 from 10:00 to 10:50.

I was scheduled to have a Psyc exam, but... alas!

After Spanish, I meet up with moon_eyed again, and my friend Sara from high school, and we have breakfast/lunch

Sara and I are married.

It was one of those keep-me-in-the-country deals.

By 12:20 (like, an hour later) I am on my way home.

That giant [FILLED] parking garage is a terrible place to get caught when you are late to class.

Leaving school fills me with euphoria.

Goldfrapp does, too. Just not as much.

Do you see that little red arrow? Now, see, it flashes to tell other drivers your intention of changing lanes or turning at an intersection. Please, do your fellow driver compatriots a favor and USE IT.

I always feel bad for homeless people, but I never give them money because I don't ever have any.
I don't think that guy has feet.

I get off at MD-43, to get back to US-40, to go home.
Yay.

If it doesn't show by the end, I live my life on 40.

Midway is the only liquour store in eastern Baltimore County/western Harford County that is open on Sundays. My new house is literally five minutes away from it.

I'm going to the new house to catch up with my mom, and to poop.

That is my mom.

If you can spot the squirrel, he was in our yard, hiding his nuts.

I have my mom's dimples.

I stuck around the house and cleaned a little bit, but oxrandyyxo had just gotten on 40 (hahaha), so I was headed back to other-house to meet up with him.

Time check!

He beat me to my house, though. Loser.

We had to fill up my grandmom's minivan with boxes to take to the new house... it was great.

He took pictures of the Mary statue thingy outside my house; they will probably be in his post.

Chris and my house. I caught him off-guard ;)

I made Chris drive my car to the new house because I wasn't sure if we'd be returning in one car or not (and we didn't).

The wife of the couple who owned the house before us is handicapped, so it is all sorts of handicap accessible! Chris took advantage of the stairlift.

We head back to my house after unloading boxes and catching up with my mom [again]. Chris thinks that I am a terrible driver (and he is right!) and is always scared for his life when I am in control of it.

And we driiiive.

AND IKEA.

It is a terrible picture, but moon_eyed was already there. If you can make out a human figure by a 5-door Hyundai, it is her.

This is her face.
Neither of us have naturally red hair.

Ikea gets me going. :)

Someone put the artist's sculptures in quite a compromising position.

It wasn't a very good attempt, though; their pelvises are too far apart.

He wasn't actually NAKED in Ikea. It would have made a good story, though.

My rewards for good behaviour (ha). Ikea has lobster-shaped pasta. <3

We race Kristen to the Olive Garden, but she wins.

;)

I think that there is another pair of photos of us taking pictures of each other.
The people sitting at the table next to us [in the background of this picture] were genuine white trash. Everyone else in the dining area was over age 70. Yeah.

Chris footed the bill because he is a sweetheart! :) [cough]

I'm not exactly sure why Kristen was holding her bag open like that... Maybe she wanted Chris to jump in?

Kristen and Chris roamed around and looked for books while I caught up with an old friend.

This was on the drive back to my new-house to release my Ikea treasures.

My cigarette was bent. (Yes, I smoke. Yes, I smoke Virginia Slims. Yes, they are 120s.)

Chris had a cooler picture like this.
But we were headed to our friend Alia's! For American Idol

Mmm tunnel.

I love the crap out of this picture.

This is the "I am scared for my life because I am driving in the tunnel and attempting to take a half-decent picture of myself" face.

I followed Chris half of the way [for a change], but only because we got separated and when we were reunited, he was in front of me.

Aw, Chris and Alia :)
His head was all up in her boob.

And I finally got to meet Alia's cat. Alia and I haven't hung out since October because I don't particularly like her husband. Oops.

Alia and Chris.
I really like this picture. I should demand that she put it on her myspace.

squee :)

American Idol, because I have no life.

lols at cat's eyes.

Chris, voting for his favorite American Idol. Alia, watching Chris. John (Alia's husband), watching Alia watch Chris.

Coffeeee.
(Yes, mine had inordinate amounts of sugar in)

I eventually got around to voting for my Idol, right before I left.

I said bye to la chatte, but she was not pleased.

Put on my shoes, and went to my car! Bye, Alia!

It was just 10:00 when I headed out.

More 40 :)

This is a terrible picture, but US-40 does this weird... freeway thing when you are driving through demi-downtown Baltimore. It's bizzzzzzzzzaaaaaarrrrrrrre.

So squiggggggly.

And I am home!
It says 188.1, but it's really hard to read.
My car got a freaking lot of action this day. FOR REAL.

I wash my face and brush my teeth (you don't get two teeth-brushing pictures! One is enough!)

My mom comes in to say goodnight.
Do we look alike? at all?

Make a quick post.

Write down my homework for French so I remember to do it (!!!!!!).

Read for 10 minutes (time check, 11:17)

And, eventually, I turn out my light and fall asleep.

Anyway. Hope you enjoyed!
