So the other day my freaky little nephew sang karaoke in front of a bar full of strangers. I'm not always sure if he's actually precocious or if I'm just biased, but on this one I'm pretty sure he's unusual. John took Hunter to the bar/pub where they usually listen to live music (something that Hunter LOVES) but instead of a band it was karaoke. After he danced to the singers for a while, the woman in charge asked him if he'd like a turn. He got signed up to sing Twinkle Twinkle (his choice), then waited his for his turn.

When they called his name, he went up on stage, said hi to the audience, and then right on cue with his music he sang his song 3 three times through (John says he totally rocked out on it), the final time with the whole audience singing along with him. Then he got a standing ovation.

He turns three in a couple of weeks.

This is just not normal, right?

Anyway, the best part is he totally doesn't care. The next day I asked him what he'd done the night before, and he said he had mac&cheese. With a little more prompting he said he danced. When I specifically asked him about the singing, he said "oh yeah. I sang with people." That's it. No big deal for him. I don't think this is a sign that he's going to be a performer some day. Mostly I'm just shocked at how confident and unshy he is. I do love that little goob.
