silver_icontest is the original icon challenge community created in 2005 for the benifit of those who adore the more classic movie era. Films and actors range from the beginning of film itself (silent films) to around the 1960's.
Each week an actor or actress is chosen to focus on (actor one week, actress the next) and there are a variety of challenges including an open contest (choose your own picture) and a mod-chosen stock photo contest.
Also, each week, there is a movie contest featuring (yet again) an open side and a mod-chosen stock photo side.
When the time is right, special contests are also announced.
This week's actress is Maureen O'Hara and the movie of the week is The Philadelphia Story. There is a special contest going on for a Mod Icon. Next week, there will be a two-week special contest to find a new header for the community!
