[Filter: For my eyes only] What is wrong with love in Lima?

Oct 21, 2010 16:56

When I walked out to my car in the parking structure this morning I was greeted with an atrocious sight - someone had egged my family car and written epithets all over it in (thankfully?) water based paint. Evidently someone in Lima doesn't like that I don't just see straight patients at my practice and decided to tell me that in no uncertain terms.

I have to say that this kind of narrow minded thinking makes me furious beyond words. I treat patients that are generally high risk so they are much more vulnerable emotionally as well as physically. I cannot fathom why people can be so hateful towards people in their time of need. I will always treat all of the people that I see in life as well as in my practice with dignity and respect no matter who or how they love.

Most of my morning was spent talking to officers at the police station as I had to give my account of what happened. I am happy that whoever did this chose to do it in the hospital parking structure because it has cameras filming twenty-four hours a day. One odd thing they did find plastered to the hood of my car was a picture of Rachel Berry sitting in my waiting room. I know she had mentioned before that people would be looking for her but that discovery was a bit creepy, you know? It was taken behind one of the potted plants so it looks like a surveillance photo that private eyes would take. Who would do that to her? I know the cops here are overworked so should I call the police in New York? I just don't know.

Basically, bad day to start but ended with the successful delivery of a healthy baby boy to a couple who had gone through half a dozen IVF rounds. Great ending to a bad day.
