Risky Business.

The past week has been intense. So many goings-on. Not entirely school-related, which leaves me quite worried at what this semester has in store for me. I've gone to school a grand total of 3 times last week, which wouldve been 2 if not for my Literature prof not announcing that he will not be meeting us last Friday. Damn it, wasted gas right there.

The time that just passed made me realize quite a few things. I just don't feel ready writing it all down. There seems to be some sort of finality with writing something down. Well, I'm sure people can say that with the age of Computers, we can just delete what we just wrote down, but I'm kind of old-fashioned. Just imagine it as writing with pencils, then proceeding to erase any mistakes, there remains a smudge, a dirty echo of your previous error. Reality, just like those damn pencils, you can try your best to erase it, but the imperfection still remains, like a haunting memory. This is not yet final. So no writing just yet.

Suppose life were like baseball. You're at bat, signifying the opportunities or chances you face in life. you are given only three chances with it. That should let people be more careful with their decisions, wont you agree? No more half-assed attempts, every action meticulously planned out, SURE THINGS all around. Man, what a dull life that would be. Thankfully this ain't like baseball. but then again, when you strike out, the penalty's much harder that just being called "OUT". So, act wisely.

Risk. What is risk? We hear it in movies, on TV, read it in books, but do we really know its meaning? Have ever really felt what it is to risk something? Bill Gates to a risk by dropping out of Harvard. Kevin Garnett took a risk by signing with Boston. Hell, even Leonidas took a risk with his 300. Risk connotes chances, it connotes sacrifice, and perhaps best of all, it connotes faith. Saints risked their lives for their faith, well sure, they died for it, but they're not called saints for nothing right? Risk lets you live life, but it can also end it. Perhaps that is why the results you get from risky actions taste so much sweeter than planned ones. Each aspect of human life, has some semblance of risk. We risk our careers when we choose our course in college. We risk our freedom when we vote for our leaders. And maybe, best/worst of all, we risk our lives when we choose who to love. Cause when they say those beautiful words back at you, try and tell me it's not like heaven?

Di naman sa nagiging ma-drama, pero ganun talaga DIBA?

Well, great exercise on insightful thinking, back to Philo na ako. hahaha. Rest easy guys.
