Saw has got to be the most bad-assed recently made movie known to man. There's nothing that isn't cool about this movie. From an old fat bastard cutting himself up in barbed wire to a crack-whore stabbing her way into a live man's stomach with a pocket knife, this movie is most definitely kick-ass. If that isn't already awesome enough for you, then how about the fact that a man cuts off his own leg with a hacksaw. Oh yeah, I said it.
Now I feel like I have to mention Aron Ralston. If you didn't know who this man is, you should be drowned. Aron Ralston is the man who was hiking up a mountain and got his arm stuck under a fallen rock. Did he die? No. He cut off his own arm with a dull pocket knife. That's what Aron Ralston did, and he's alive to tell the tale. I thought that was an appropriate side note.
So anyway, here's the plot of Saw. It starts out with these two guys stuck in a room, chained to a pipe on each side of it, and a corpse of a guy who blew his head open with a .45 lying in the middle of the room. One of the men, the one who's not the little pussy-boy whining over in his corner, says something along the lines of, "we have to work together or I'll rip these chains off of my leg and shove my foot up your ass." Eventually, after some background which includes:
1.) A cop getting blown apart by 5 shotguns.
2.) A different cop getting his throat cut open.
3.) The two scenes that were described above (the fat bastard and the crack-whore) along with some other guy getting fucked over.
you find out that the two guys are chained up by this bad-assed son of a bitch who just wants people to appreciate the life that they were given, and the way that he makes people realize this is to put them in next to impossible situations where they have nothing better to do but face the facts that they're lying little assholes.
So these two guys are hangin' out in this room, and one of the guys finds out that his wife and kid are tied up, and they'll die if he doesn't kill the whiny pussy-boy in the opposite corner. I won't give anything else way, but this eventually leads up to him cutting off his own leg with the saw and an awesome twist at the end.
Too gorey? I say not enough.
