At the risk of sounding annoying, you should show us that tattoo on your right arm. It looks like an intriguing story.

Also: you are stunning. Even with the diffusion, I can tell you've got that kind of hair that people crave to run their fingers through.

Thank you. My hair is very thick, to the point where hair stylists comment on it. But fluffy too.

I posted an entry when I first got it about what it means. I'm quoting it here, just because my boyfriend has also asked about it, and I'm afraid I didn't give a very thorough answer.

"The meaning of the phrase "why should a monk live in the mountains?" is explained as meaning that an enlightened person should be enlightened everywhere, not just in seclusion. I take this to mean 2 main things: one, that appearances tell next to nothing and mean next to nothing, and two, that we are each responsible for our own actions, and you shouldn't put off doing when you want to do because of excuses. Tying that into the original phrase, just because someone lives as a hermit with the trappings of a monk does not mean they are enlightened; conversely, the opposite is also true. Just because someone lives a secular life doesn't mean they aren't enlightened."
