My fighter baby

Been neglecting my journal for a long time.

My baby boy gave me a heart attack twice. First time, was when I noticed him wincing in pain when he tried to lie on his side. Brought him to the vet and detected he had heart murmur and fluids in the heart.

Condition was under control for a while and fluids seem to have cleared so the vet asked me to stop the meds to clear the fluids in the heart.

Few weeks later, one Sunday afternoon, I noticed he has having running nose.I thought to monitor for a day and if he is still having running nose, I'll bring him to the vet the next morn.

That night, I got a shock when I carried him out to syringe feed him his food and meds. He was limp. I called the emergency line and had the vet rushed down to the clinic. I rushed Bernbern to the clinic and he was put in oxygen tank and injected with fusimide to clear the fluids in his heart.

His oxygen reading was very bad. Usual reading should be above 90 and his reading was 50 plus, and at good times, it went up to 70. The vet prepared me for the worst. They didn't allow me to stay overnight with him so I had to go home.

I spent the night sleepless and sent him healing and positive energy. The vet called in the morn and said his oxygen reading went up to 90+. I could bring him back home in the afternoon if they can wean him off the oxygen tank and get him breathing properly in room setting.

That afternoon, I brought Bernbern home. Vet bill was about $800, I should have studied veterinary.

My fighter baby. I'm so proud of you. You are such a tiny boy yet you have the will of a giant. I know the heart murmur can't be cured. I can only do my best to stop it from deteriorating even more. I have faith in you baby. I know you can do it. Mummy will fight alongside with you.

Jia you baobei. I love you.
