Kovan

My sweet Kovan. He has such gorgeous eyes. He was asleep when i approached and stirred when he heard my voice. When he saw it was me, he got up excitedly and followed me to the bench.

I fed him and he sat for almost an hour beside me and even crawled onto my lap for cuddles. He jumped down a few times but each time i pat the bench and my lap, he would jump up and sit beside me or on my lap again. Such a smart boy. If only I can bring him home.

I used to be extremely terrified of cats. Kovan was the first cat I dared to touch. It was the first cat that dare come near me too. In the past I would have gone screaming in the other direction. I had rescued him from Kovan centre. The building was enbloc n tenants had all moved out. His previous feeders left him all alone in the carpark. It was by sheer fate that i was there that day. I went back that night to rescue him and to my horror, they sealed up the carpark already.

Luckily the security guard was still around and opened up for me to take Kovan out. I could not find any foster or adopter, and seeing that he is sterilized, I took the risk and brought him back to my neighbourhood. I let him free downstairs my block, feed him and stayed for a while with him and asked him to stay there and I'll come feed him everyday.

The next day I went down, he was gone. I searched high and low but I could not find him. One week later, while I was walking to the coffee shop in my neighbourhood, I saw him. I could not describe the joy I felt. I ran to the coffee shop and bought food for him. He had settled in very well there. I have been going there to feed him ever since. Once in a while, I'll nag at him and ask him why can't he stay downstairs my block and have to make me walk so far and then he'll look at me with his beautiful eyes to make me stop nagging.

He's such a sweet and manja boy. I love him so much.

If only i can bring him home.
