RIP, Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
He wrote the first real piece of literature I ever read: Breakfast of Champions. From that point I was basically in love with all his work, and I've read almost all of his books and annotated the shit out of them. He truly mastered the art of unifying bitter cynicism and an appreciation for the humor and beauty in everyday things, and he will always hold a special place in my heart as my first favorite author.
