It is estimated that nearly 400,000 people have been killed in Darfur, with an estimated 2 million men women and children have been forced to flee their homes due to the horrible killings happening in their villages and towns. This killing is being done as we speak in Darfur Sudan, and as of right now there is no hope in sight for this terrible humanitarian crisis. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Next week the Model UN Students are hosting a Darfur Awareness Week. During the week we will be putting on several activities such as: Change for Change (fundraising for the refugees, starting on Wednesday), and a Darfur Lunch were you eat a lunch like those who live in Sudan. The cost of this lunch is simply a donation of what you would have spent at lunch. The Model UN class encourages all students to participate on Thursday to gain a better understanding of what life is like for those in Darfur.
If you are interested in the lunch or have any questions, please talk to, or message your favorite Model UN student, or Mr. Douglass (well talk to him), to get your name on the list.
Please take this week to heart, to give up your time to listen to what we have to say, and maybe some spare change to help make a difference.
If you are a Model UN Student or A PHS student please re-post this to past the word on, and sign up for the Darfur Lunch, and listen for announcements starting on Monday.
