I have a recurring dream, of the sort that might not actually be recurring, because I woke up this morning thinking I'd had the dream before, several times, and I appear to have memories of having it before, but ... it's a bit hard to tell with dreams.
Anyway.
In the usual dream, I'm in a room that has a table and chairs in the centre, with sofa/comfy chairs surrounding it. Like an oversized boardroom. A leader comes in and covers everyone's faces with a jumper -- the arms are tied around our eyes, over a layer of wool, and then on a second wrap-around, the ends of the sleeves are tucked in above the eyeballs to block out all light. The tucking in feels very defined in the dream. Then the leader brings someone into the room and talks to them. We never see the person, and any audio is highly muffled. I wake up not remembering whether the jumper has been removed.
Last night, it took a sinister turn. The leader (who looked like Kevin Bacon this time) covered us all in jumpers as usual. But then, rather than bringing in another person, he began to grope me, touching my breasts, and pushing his hands under my shirt. I freaked out, trying to escape, shouting "Don't touch me!" but my hands were bound to my sides. I was desperate and had no control, and shouted again, "Stop, don't touch me!", and then woke up, shouting "Stop, don't touch me" aloud. I was so overcome by the freshness of the dream, I sobbed aloud for a good minute. Gasping, wracking sobs.
That might actually be my first nightmare. It was scary!
