So that's it. We packed everything up and left. It was a rough week with all the packing and moving and the 3,000% humidity we had all week long. I actually got off the easiest with the packing stuff, I basically packed a few catering things and uniforms one day, and spent the rest of the week doing the financials so that my boss could pack everything else.
Saying goodbye to the employees and the other people at Wentworth was sad. Most of them are staying there, so I'll probably come back to visit sometime soon since I live like 5 minutes away. Besides, I have to see what Chartwells is gonna do to that place. I've heard some of there crazy plans, and it will be interesting to see if they can pull it all off before their scheduled opening on July 11th. I doubt it. Hehe I'm bitter.
Speaking of July 11, that is the day I start working at Brandeis. It's definitely not gonna be fun driving to Waltham everyday. The powers that be at Aramark are sick, sadistic people. When I started with the company, they asked me what position I wanted. I said "Anything but catering" so they made me a catering manager. When we lost the account at Wentworth and they asked me where I wanted to go, I said "Anywhere but Brandeis" so they put me at Brandeis. If they ask me how much money I want to make, I'm gonna say "Anything but a million dollars" and then maybe i'll get it. Hopefully I won't be working there permanentaly. They have a tough union over there. I can just see myself fighting with the employees..."Excuse me, can you please mop up that mess you just spilled all over the floor?" "Nope, that's not my job." At this point I punch the guy in his face and then use his face to mop up the mess. I hate obnoxious union employees which i've heard these Brandeis people are. Sometimes unions can be good, but not when people take advantage of the system.
Yesterday after work all the Wentworth managers went out for drinks at Sonsie on Newbury Street with our district manager, Bruce, who paid the bill. It was pretty sweet. I had like 5 or 6 beers and Nigel and I ordered some calamari. I like getting free drinks and food from my boss. Speaking of free stuff, I really cleaned up with this Wentworth closure. I got a free Kitchen Aid mixer! Those are like $200 at least. I also got a case of wine and some champagne. and a few other things i can't remember. Thanks Wentworth!
Things to do with this week vacation i have:
-Get a new car
-Get back on a gym schedule
-Buy more clothes (I'm pretty sure they have a different dress code at Brandeis than at Wentworth...it's just a bit more prestigious and by a bit i mean a lot)
-Clean apartment
-Drink a lot and eat a lot of food on the 4th
I will end my entry with a quote:
"Happy Birthday Diana!"
