One Hundred-Ninth Question

Feb 03, 2008 13:11

[Begin Voice Post]

...It is very cold today. In this particular form, it feels significantly more so than usual. [Muttered.] Normally, I may put on additional clothing if necessary.

I am beginning to envy Tameri her fur.

[Meow!]

[End Voice Post]

((OOC: What else is as appropriately wrinkled as a Sphynx cat? XD))

'Another' cat? Do you refer to Rosiel's pet as well?

((OOC: Ahahahaha, Ptolemy offers a tentative hello.))

i do, yes.
i'm the one that shares its name.

how strange to find another that looks like it.

[ooc: Awwww but Katan Minor likes Katan Major, so he'll like Ptolemy too, honest XD]

You are...Katan, then?

I am Ptolemy of Alexandria; it is a pleasure to meet you.

((OOC: It's Jan's dire warning about the possibility of being part of a matched pair for Rosiel that makes Ptolly go eeeeeh more than anything. XD;;))

i am. i'm called katan...minor, sometimes.

yes, it's good to meet you too, ptolemy of alexandria.
i didn't know there were other cats that looked like him, even if this is only a curse.

katan major despises the cold. are you all right in your present form?

[ooc: l-lol XD Nooo neither Katan will stand for that >>;;]

Katan minor? You are considered the lesser of the two?

I have only once before seen a cat like this, at a temple of Bast. From what I have gathered, however, they are not uncommon in other worlds.

While I have found the temperature fairly insufferable, I believe I will survive until midnight comes.

((OOC: A comfort, to be sure! ^_-))

it was as lord rosiel ordered. he so named me, and named the cat, and then named us both to separate the one from the other.

i see. our his cat was a gift. i don't know where it came from, save its previous keepers.

i hope you will. i know curses are meant to encourage misery, but to die from a curse would be unbearable.

That is...most intriguing, particularly if my presumption that you are not normally a lion is accurate.

Ah.

...I have had my fair share of death by curses and hope not to repeat the experience. Hiding beneath my bedcovers has served me through most of the day, though, and I do not think death is a danger.

no, i'm not ordinarily a lion. it seems ironic that i am one today.

i see. take care to make sure it's not a danger for you. midnight can't come soon enough for most. and yet i'm told this is a mild curse.

Ironic? How so?

Thank you; I shall. And yes, this curse is of little consequence, especially when compared with previous curses we have suffered. It is also one which occurs fairly regularly, though for what reason, I do not know.

being what i am, and my body, the one he gave me, taken from me... i am not a lion... only now katan major and katan minor are both feline, and the minor is by far the larger of the two.

perhaps it amuses the casters.

Ah. I see. In that sense, there is some humour to the situation.

It is quite possible; the deities have seemed to enjoy particularly some curses in the past. Perhaps this one, like those others which return again and again, offer enough variation to keep the novelty of the curse.

Ah. There is much to observe, as far as the City is concerned.

I have resided here for just over a year.
