So this weekend start off rough, but ended up ok.

Friday was my math final and a paper for Asian American History.  I ended up with an A- in math (yeah!), though it did kill my chance for a 4.0.  Oh well.  And I still don't know my AsAmHist grade.  But everything else was A's this quarter so far!  Woot!  Keep it up.

Friday night I went to Volkan with Cynthia, Clyde, Sheekah and Brian.  Parked on the street, and when I came back a couple hours later, found my back passenger window smashed and my purse stolen from the trunk.  Nothing from the car's interior was stolen (jackets, North Face fleece, shoes...), just from the trunk.  They must have seen me put it in there right before locking my car.  My phone, ipod, keys, cards, etc were in there.  Ugh.  Luckily, no ID card cept my NU one, which has no address on it.  In fact, there was NOTHING to inidicate where I live.  Good.  I'm bummed about the purse missing tho.  It was my favorite big white one my mom got me from Hong Kong.

Oh, and my song notebook from Ghana was in there too cuz I had just left a drum circle.  All my drumming notes, song notes, Ghana notes, everything, was stolen.  Ugh.... that really bothers me cuz I can't replace that.  At least everything else was just money.

So now I've been running around trying to get my life back in order.  It's not so bad though.  Got a new phone (KRZR!!  So sexy!), will get an ipod when I have the money, I can easily get another purse, and have my keys.  Tho, I didn't have them saturday morning so I couldn't go to work since I had no work clothes at my parent's house where I spent the night since I was locked out (roomie's on spring break).

Everyone's been really supportive.  Brian even drove all the way from his place after I dropped him off, to my parent's because I had left my driver's license in his pocket on accident (thank goodness we needed to bring that in the club with us).  My parents and Brian sat with me on the couch drinking hot chocolate and just talking to me until I calmed down.

I was frustrated, but not incredibly upset in anyway.  Initially I couldn't believe it, feeling really violated, but after the shock was over I just got very subdued.  It's how I deal: I turn off.   Drove home in almost complete silence.  Sorry, it's just how I deal.

But then the weekend DID get better.  Brian and I went ice skating at Millenium Park (last day!  It's over now....), and made mushroom barley soup for dinner and watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (twisted movie, but I liked it).  Thanks....

My bro and I went to Belmont today and hung out, and I got a pair of shoes I'd been looking for for $5.  Woot.  And a cool t-shirt.  Yeah for thrift stores.

I'm very very glad this all happened during the Fast.  I tried to put it in perspective and be detached (of course, this thought did take a couple hours to come to me).  It did work eventually.... longer than I'd have liked, but hey, it did.

And did I mention how awesome my new phone is?  ugh... It's a shame it can't take a picture of itself.
