Saying goodbye...

This afternoon we had to say goodbye to Puffdaddy... he was a good old kitty.

He lived a loooong full life, clocking in at 18-19 years old. At his best he was damn near if not over 25 lbs. A crotchety old poop who used to sleep in a ball on the front lawn while we had garage sales. People would stop as they were walking down the street just to pet the kitty. He survived at least two dog attacks and being shot once. When we figured out that he had been shot (with a bb gun) we put up posters in the neighborhood to let people know to keep and eye on their pets... only to discover that Puff was a regular "six dinner sid" with regular stops around the neighborhood where he had several people convinced that he never got fed who would gladly give the poor starving kitty tasty treats and sumptuous nibbles. On man in our neighborhood even said that he used to watch movies with Puff and had a special bowl of treats just for him.

Always friendly with people... he didn't share the same opinion of other cats (or for that matter dogs) and would regularly scuffle with Charlie. As he got older those scuffles lessened a considerably to where he would mostly sit and look on with disdain while Charlie and Tiki would reenact great moments from wild kingdom... mostly just coming over to whatever human was available to beg for scratchies... sometimes a wee bite of whatever you were having... too if you can spare it. He used to have a terrible habit of "fishing" in whatever you were drinking... mug of tea... cup of coffee... glass of watter. He would sit and dip his paw into it while you weren't looking. Needless to say there have been a few unpleasant surprises waiting at the bottom of a few unattended glasses. "is that kitty litter?"

He was a glutton...

He was a cranky old poo...

He was a very good kitty...

He will be missed.

Via con tuna lunch box... I'll see you again some day.
