I was only 4 months in my job. Working in my home province is definitely different from the capital. Though the pay was much smaller, the scope of my responsibility was wider and people here were more friendly.
Having undergone a lot of exams and interviews, I was familiar with the application process and it was the very first (and I believe only time) that I was given a biscuit when I was taking the test. The small and surprising gesture cemented my resolve to take this job.
When I brought this up months later, my manager claimed credit for that act of kindness. But I didn't remember who gave me that cracker, all I recalled that it was blueberry and I was really hungry at that time( the exam took too long and it was lunch).

We were all women in the department. With the exception of Jojo, who did not exactly count since he worked for another affiliated company.
And being of the female kind, there was an ongoing contest among them on who would loose the most pounds. I didn't join since I don't care how much I eat and I eventually loose it to stress anyway.
When it comes to looking good, my boss is very conscious with it. She recently announced that she colored her hair and we were like :"Um...what color exactly?".
Her hair is still black and I could not see any changes from before.
Being new I was a bit diplomatic. "Perhaps it would show on a certain light or angle..."like a mood ring
My collegue from ER was not so subtle and said that she was ripped off.
This went on for a couple for a couple of weeks, wherein my boss would convince us about her hair color and it was just too tempting not to answer back and tell her otherwise.

Just last week , we were discussing about the 'harrasment' in one of our far-flung companies. The company was engaged in the logging business. We plant the trees for it to be harvested. It was situated in forested areas were rebel guerillas usually hide and train. Thus we also have concessionaire forest guard in that company.
I have heard of the horror stories that occurred in that area. But this was the first time that I've heard one in detail.
The staffhouse was where guests would stay and it was also the very first place to be reached to the logging area.
It was five in the morning when it happened. Rebels came inside the bunk and fired indescriminately fired their rifles. Those who were still sleeping were killed instantly. There were two who survived. One lived because he slept early and was up and out for breakfast. The other also survived because he was in the bathroom at that time.

I still want to work here. I probably get to go to that area too. Not that I'm scared or anything.
