Minus the Bear last Friday with Elena, Micheal, Ashley, and Brad at the Mermaid Lounge in New Orleans. entirely lived up to it's hype. (mostly my hype.) I had the best spot in the entire joint, right next to the stage.
I really didn't listen to the first guy, but after that The Statistics came up and reminded me of Elf Power with an awesome cover of an 80s song that I recognized from Napoleon Dynamite. After they picked up, the craziest frontman ever sang for the band Paris, Texas came out and played some Electric Power Music.
then out came my favorite band. I had talked to the effects guy before the show at the merchandise show so I recognized him, he was really cool. They started out with Spritz and played for about 45 minutes, and every song was completely amazing. Stealing Elena's idea, I took the setlist from underneath the lead guitarists foot (about 6 inches from me) and was about to take his pick, but he gave me a look so I ran for the door. I stole a band flyer from off of a dimly lit street light and then I headed home.
I want to see them again.
