DRABBLES!!!

May 16, 2008 21:23

ZOMG! I've been bored, so I decided to put my music player on shuffle, write down the first ten songs that came up, then have my bestie
cherryoranges give me ten pairings and order then however she wanted. So this is what I came up with. Personally, I think only a couple of them are good, but eh. What am I but a writer?

1) The Piano Knows Something I Don’t Know By Panic At The Disco - Mikey Way/Brendon Urie - 232 Words

Once again, I blame Pete. But really, this time, it was his fault. Pete was the one who seduced Mikey during the Summer of Like, and he’s also the one who dumped him, left him in pieces. The pieces that Brendon just happened to pick up.

And that’s how I discovered them really. It was late and I couldn’t sleep, so I chose to wander around the apartment. That’s when I heard it.

I gravitated toward the sound, the guitar chords. Silently, I stood under the door frame and listened.

She’s the smoke, she’s dancing fancy pirouettes

Brendon whispered them more than anything, his voice sounding as if not wanting to be heard.

Swan diving off of the deep end of my tragic cigarette

It was a different voice, so I knew Jon and Spencer were still asleep.  I leaned closer, and almost tripped over the plant that Jon insisted we keep. I righted myself before I could make enough noise to be noticed, and peered closer.

Brendon and Mikey sat shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh. And acoustic was settled on the singer’s lap, a note pad on the other’s. The pencil was held loosely in the bassist’s fingers as he wrote, and somewhere, deep down, I felt betrayed. I turned and all but stomped back up the stairs, not caring who I woke.

I hope you guys make BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER.

2) This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race By Fall Out Boy - Frank Iero/Gerard Way - 109 words

“Oh my knight in shining armor!” Gerard fawned over the shorter man, acting as if he was a true savior.

“Gee . . . ” He says cautiously, as if Gerard had finally lost it.

“How can I ever repay you, Sir Frank?” Gerard continued in his shrill ‘princess’ voice.

Frank decided to humor him.

“A kiss.” And so, a kiss is what he received. Plus a lot more.

The next morning, a tired looking Frank trudged into the bus kitchen, sleepily making a cup of coffee.

“So what was the deal with Princess Gee yesterday?” Bob asked from the table.

Frank managed an amused grin. “Apparently you’re evil, and also into cats.”

3)Cubicles By My Chemical Romance - Tom Fletcher/James Bourne - 233 words

James had been two cubicles down from Tom for months. Every afternoon, he would watch as the blond would shut down his computer, and get up to leave. And, every afternoon, he would watch Tom be greeted by the tall Northerner. After stared, secretly of course, he would turn back to his work, hiding his disappointment.

James never left for lunch, he was tired of people staring at him while he ate. So, he just stayed at his desk, worked through lunch, and got as much done as he could.

Once lunch, Tom wasn’t greeted by the Northerner. James managed to work up enough courage to write him a love letter. More of a note, but still. He left it on Tom’s desk, hoping the other man would see it, know who it was from and feels the same way.

However, when Tom came back to his cubicle, he quickly read the note, and immediately a look of disgust washed over his face.

Of course James hadn’t seen this; embarrassment had kept him looking at his computer and nothing else.

Tom clearing his throat had him looking up. Straight into the face of his co-worker.

“Pathetic.”

James watched as the note, his note, was ripped into pieces in front of him. Then as the scraps drifted to floor, where he would undoubtedly have to later pick them up.

He never said a word.

4) “Tell That Mick He Just Made My List Of Things To Do Today” By Fall Out Boy - William Beckett/Travis McCoy - 233 words

Every day he strangles me. Not literally, but damn close to it. I see him with Pete, and I can barely breathe.

William’s so much happier with Pete, even his smiles are brighter. And some how, it hurts to see him even take a drag of his cigarette. At least now, it’s not because he’s depressed.

But what hurts the most, is when he thinks I’m not in earshot, and he rips me apart. He says how foolish it was to hook up with me, and how I’m not even that good a lay. I just hope he’s lying. That Pete is so much better.

I want to hate him. I want to loathe William, be able to talk bad, just to get even with what he says about me, but I can’t. I still love him. I made a mistake, and he left, now every second, I regret it. I tell myself that I love him enough to let him be happy with someone else, but I’m selfish; I want him all to myself.

“Hey Travie,” Pete says, clapping my shoulder. “You ready for your set?”

I nod, watching as William approaches. My heart flutters, just because he’s close. But, as he leans in and kisses Pete, my heart stops, so do my lungs. As they move to whoever’s dressing room, my words are stuck in my throat.

“I still love you.”

5) Never Too Late By Three Days Grace - Gabe Saporta/Sisky Business - 351 words

It’s never too late to say ‘I love you’, but for Gabe it almost is. The time left is limited, and so few people know it.

It’s not that Gabe doesn’t want to say it, he wants to say it so badly, he just doesn’t want to overwhelm the boy. They’re only eighth graders, but Gabe knows. No one has ever made him feel this way.

The taller boy would start to say it on numerous occasions, starting out with “Sisky, I have something to tell you,” as he lay on the boy’s lap. Then, right as Sisky would answer with “What?”, someone would join them at the table and ruin the moment. Gabe would usually finish with something stupid like “Tag you’re it” and run off. The other boy would wait it out, until Gabe came back, then tag him and promptly shout, “No tag backs!” and the game would be over.  Once, Gabe was brave enough to say “You have pretty eyes.” Sisky just playfully slapped is head.

For Gabe, and Sisky, time was almost out. They had less than a week, and Sisky was bed ridden. And Gabe was there, as often as he could be.

As time continued to dwindle, Gabe kept trying, but kept choking on those three little words.

One afternoon, after Gabe got out of school, he managed to say it.

“Sisky?”

The other boy managed a weak, “Yea?”

“I love you.” Gabe had said it, and the words hung in the air for a few moments.

Sisky tried to laugh. “You idiot! I know. Do you know how obvious you were? Come here.” He motioned for Gabe to come closer. He kissed the taller boy lightly on the lips. “ I love you, too, you fool.”

When time finally ran out, Gabe wasn’t sure if he felt better, or worse. Better because he had finally told Sisky that he loved him or worse because he knew Sisky loved him back. Gabe decided on worse, because he when he said it, it would be a ‘happy ever after’, but he got his hopes up anyway.

6)Lying From You by Linkin Park - Ryan Ross/Harry Judd - 255 words

The boys had dragged Ryan here. He really didn’t want to go to the bar, or pub as the other insisted he call it.

“Have fun,” Brendon had told him, before ditching him to dance with some boy with dark curly locks.

“Relax,” Jon had said, undoubtedly high.

“Go drink and dance.” Even his best friend, Spencer, was against him.

He was sitting, grumbling at the bar, when a husky voice whispered in his ear, “What drinks you to England?”

“How’d you . . .  “ Ryan starts, but is cut off

“You’re voice. You have no accent. Well, an American one.”

“Oh, I’m Ryan.” He wasn’t entirely sure why he had introduced himself.

“Harry.” The other boy pointed to himself.

“Well Harry, do you want to dance?” He motioned to the guys and girls grinding and dry humping on the dance floor.

“I thought you’d never ask.” Ryan assumed he meant it as a joke.

Dancing gave Ryan a euphoric high; he let himself go in the music, moving against Harry.

Then, Harry kissed him. Ryan froze, debating himself. “Should I kiss him back? I’ll never see him again. What if he wants to take it further? The guys told me to have fun.”

He pulled away, stammering. “I’m not like I, I mean, I don’t - didn’t think of you like that. I just, I have a boyfriend. He’s very uh, um, jealous. I should, just, yea.” It was word vomit.

“Sure,” Harry answered, and Ryan could see the hurt in his eyes.

“Liar!” Ryan mentally called himself.

7)Nails For Breakfast Tacks For Snacks by Panic! At The Disco - Joe Trohman/Jon Walker - 225 words

Joe didn’t belong. This place was for people who were fucked up. Joe was not fucked up.

“Hi, Joe. I’m Jon. I’m going to be your friend for the next few months.”

Joe didn’t need a friend, not in the slightest. “I want out.”

“You’ve only been here an hour, you can’t get out yet.” Jon explained. “I had to go through the same thing. I didn’t believe them when they said marijuana was a gateway drug.”

“I want out.” Joe said again, more impatiently.

“You can get out when they know you’re clean.”

“Fuck you.” With that, Joe had stormed away to his newly assigned room, leaving his ‘friend’ in the lobby.

~~~
Joe sat on his bed, biting his fingernails; this was harder than he thought.
Someone knocked on the door.
“Hi, Joe. I’ve brought something.”
“Is this something that I can kill myself with?” The other man asked bitterly.
“Of course not.” Jon came the rest of the way into the room, carrying with him a guitar.
“I don’t know how to play . . .  “
“Then I’ll teach you.” Jon sat on the bed next to Joe, placing the guitar in Joe’s hands.
For the first time in a month, Joe actually smiled a genuine smile.
“Thanks.” He leaned over and kissed Jon quickly on the lips. He was starting to like his new ‘friend’.
8) Sleeping With The Light On By Busted - Dougie Poynter/Danny Jones - 285 words
Dougie insisted the light in the hall remain on. He knew it seemed foolish, he was almost 17, but he couldn’t sleep in the dark. He always thought that someone bad was lurking in the shadows. He was never afraid of monsters under his bed, he was afraid of what kind of people would be lurking outside his window at night - the kind that would break into the house and murder Danny, Harry, and Tom in their sleep, then come after him.
One morning, Danny asked him why he always needed the hall light on.
“Because there are bad people that will sneak in and kill you, Tom, and Harry, then come after me.” Dougie knew he sounded six and not 16.
“If they wanted to kill us, a hall light wouldn’t stop them.”  Dougie made a noise in the back on his throat.
“I was kidding, Dougs.” Danny offered.
“No, you weren’t! You got that serious look on your face!” Dougie whined. Now, he really did sound six.
“What, the same look I get when I tell Tom that he and Harry should get married and have a spring wedding?” The Northerner mused.
“No! The look you get,” Dougie blushed, “when you tell me you love me.”
“Must I sleep with you then?” Danny asked.
“I don’t want to be kept up all night!” Tom shouted from the kitchen.
“Has Harry knocked you up yet?!” Danny shouted back.
There wasn’t a reply.
“Would you really?” Dougie questioned softly.
“Would I what?”
“Sleep with me, just so the light can be off.”
“Yup. I love you that much.” Danny smiled, his big toothy smile, and Dougie hugged him.
Needless to say, the hall light stayed off.
9) Wake The Dead By The Used - Spencer Smith/Pete Wentz - 117 words
Spencer knows something’s wrong with Pete because of his screams. His screams are loud enough to wake the dead. Spencer would know because he is.
He’s not exactly the undead, but more of a ghost. And Pete keeps him ‘awake’ at night. A hard task because ghosts don’t usually sleep.
When Pete’s screams get particularly bad, Spencer will sneak into the bedroom, and rest his hands on Pete, sometimes on his arms stomach or forehead.
“Sh, sh,” Spencer whispers, letting it carry like a breeze to Pete’s ears. Pete quiets.
“It’s okay let go.” And Pete does. He relaxes into a peaceful slumber.
If Spencer only knew how badly it would come to hurt Pete in the mornings.
10) Niki FM by Hawthorne Heights - Patrick Stump/Ray Toro - 226 words
The boom box rests on his shoulders, and the wind is ruffling his hair. It’s not a cold wind, but more like a summer breeze.
He reaches up and turns the knob, making sure the volume is up all the way, then he changes it to track nine.
Then he proceeds to throw a pebble at the window he knows to be Patrick’s. He’s escaped out of it enough times.
The window opens, and he hits start. The noise level hurts his ears, but he won’t move the boom box.
“Ray, go away!” The request is ignored, and if he could, Ray would turn the music up louder.
Patrick stands at his window, watching the boy on his lawn. The song ends and Ray shouts up at the strawberry-blond.
“Please take me back!” He doesn’t care who hears.
‘Some never learn,’ Patrick thinks and climbs from his window, and stealthily down the wall.  He knows his father has probably heard the music and is pissed. But, for now, he can’t bring himself to care.
“You are crazy.” And he kissed the highest point of Ray he can reach, which happens to be the taller boy’s neck.
“So?”
“Why are you outside my window, playing this song?”
“Because it’s your song. And you are the only song I know.”  Ray leans down and kisses Patrick’s blushing cheek.
And I just realized that none of the pairings had Bobby in them.... D: At least one had Bob in it. Read them, enjoy them, tell me what you think of them. XD
