Disclaimer: Neither of these lovely women are mine. Which is a pity because Faith is about 37 kinds of hot.
She only tells the exciting stories. The stories that end with an amazing kill. Stories where she's clever and quick and daring. Where she’s a hero.
She doesn't tell them the story of the first time she killed a vamp and how she'd been sick afterwards. How she was so scared that she was going to die that she cried herself to sleep that first night. Or that sometimes she still does.
But Buffy seems to know all the things that Faith isn't saying. Faith has never met anyone who actually understands. She's not sure if she likes it.
Still that doesn't stop her later from pulling Buffy to her after a midnight fight with several vamps. Both of them are covered in sweat and blood and when Faith pulls away there is red mixed with Buffy's perfect pink pout. Buffy starts to stammer and tell Faith that she doesn't feel that way, that she isn’t... but as they part ways Faith sees Buffy bring her fingertips up to her mouth and knows that there's plenty that Buffy isn't saying either.
She knows how to play this game. Girls like Buffy always find Faith when they’re ready. She can wait.
