Its amazing what you learn when you listen
Now if you know me at all then you will know how well I get on with my dad. You'll know at any given opportunity I love talking about the type of life he has lead. One of the only things I enjoy about being at home is getting to listen to him talk about it. How he fucked off against his dads will and didnt come back for 12 years, spent his time travelling with friends no responsibilities everything at chance. How he pretty much brought me up taking me to work with him everyday in the first years of my life. I am who I am because of my dad.
My dad has a very successful brother Alan. We call him Maxy Farnham. I never really knew quite how successful he was because most of my life he has worked abroad. And my dad isnt the type to brag about it. Well turns out old uncle Alan is a millionaire and nobody bothered to tell me. He lives in Brazil. Is head of operations for South America for a multi multi international steel company. He meets with government types and has even met on a business basis with China's president. And Im his niece...he owns a exclusive restaraunt and bar and a huge Villa in millionaires row in Sao Paulo I know Ive spelt half of this wrong but arsed. Im not typing this to brag because hey it has nothing to do with me.
APART from this...he has always told my dad to just go out there whenever he wants etc. As he is rarely there. So my idea is email uncle Al. Next Summer I am gonna spend it in Brazil working in his bar. I know Alan quite well from when I was a kid and he knows Im pretty intelligent despite my "public education" as he puts it. So thats me set. I have something to look forward to. I have something to work to.
Claire doesnt know it yet...but if she isnt busy next summer...and she fancies learning some Portugese she's got a free ride in Brazil for a summer. My dads going out in October for a bit when its cooler because he cant be out in the sun and he knows Alan wouldnt say no.
So it doesnt matter that Im gonna work all summer why everyone else is in Widnes havin bbq's having laughs. Cos next summer Pottar and Vikstar go international once more. I'm gonna go to Rio...Im gonna get a natural tan. Im gonna work for it. And it feels good. Life is good.
