that statistic certainly puts things in perspective, doesn't it? i dunno why i haven't updated....probably because i've been too busy living/wallowing in malaise/getting over malaise to bother. since i've been gone:
- i started working tech support at comcast. i do not like it for amyriad of reasons. feel free to help me find a job with a normal 9-5/m-f schedule that pays like $12.50/hr....or a unicorn. you have equal chance of finding either really.
- both kyle and nick quit Caestles over, believe it or not, amicable artistic differences. musically, we began going in a direction that did not sit with them. we are all still friends, which is righteous.
- Caestles now features majority singing. some semi-melodic 90s shouting. a sprinkle of actual screaming. i'm dying to find out how what this band sounds like. i'm terrified of being a lead singer that plays guitar, the tritest rock stereotype, if only because i don't know what to do with my body when i'm doing both. plus i have no hair to whip around. awkward.
- let me clarify: thejus, alex, and myself are all sharing vocal duties. so far, it sems one guy takes lead and the other 2 do supportig vocals. i wouldn't calt hembackup vocals per-se.....you'l see.

- it's probably a cool thing that i'm back to my highschool weight in time for being a co-frontman. few people are stoked to see a frontman that resembles a dad. 2007: 248lbs 2009: 184lbs. nice.
- i've been finding good books to read, which as it turns out, is kind of a precondition for my ability to write pleasing lyrics. it's not that i'm particularly inspired by the books themselves, i think i just need the wordy part of the headmeats massaged. just finished "The raw Sharks texts" and am now moving into "The illuminatus Trilogy", "The Boy Detective Fails", and "Kubrick: Inside A Film artist's Maze"
- pay cable sitcoms (i.e. weeds, Nurse jackie, eastbound 7 down, etc) might be the only interesting TV aside from my beloved mainstream nerd shows (Heroes and Lost).
- 90s mixtapes were creatd fo the purpose of spreading WIN.
- saw Inglorious Basterds last night. did i like it? at 2hrs45mins, i felt it was too short. that's the kind of crush i have on it.
- had more tumors removed. this time 5 from my right thigh. even minus those 5, there were over 30 between my keens and my shoulders at last count in June. i've decided to stop counting since then.
- my kidney hurts lately. either it's dying, or i'm developing diabetes. at this point, i couldn't care less. this worthless meat husk is gonna do what it wants regardless of what i do. my new commitment to accepting my potentially imminent demise is liberating, insofar as i'm more focus on going for things i want since...you know....i'll probably be dead next year. or not. we'll see. whatever, i have only the eternal present.
- i've been listening to the mars volta and 90s girl rock bands lately. i have an urge to cover a Bikini Kill song, but i know that would appeal to me and only me. anyone else who even recognized it would probably hate it and think we were kidding. i am not. WE'RE BIKINI KILL, AND WE WANT REVOLUTION! GIRL-STYLE NOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
- writing lyrics again is an odd thing. trying to refind/refine my "voice" is interesting. i'm using the Billy Corgan method: the lines that make you cringe the most are the ones you keep. it took 3 or 4 tries, but i finally finished song 1. first one's always the hardest.
- i think i'm out of shit to say for now. so....this:
